    big D

Bottom line is that standard medicine is  grossly shorting colon cancer prone families on vitamin D3 intakes, before, during and after diagnosis and treatment. Probably short even from conception on.

The only question is dose for colorectal patients who may be taking many other scripts.    My wife, previously vitamin D deficient, has  been in the 25,000-40,000 iu vitamin D3 per day range for over 2.5 years. She's doing great.   [High dose regimen was agreed under two doctors and has non trivial requirements including calcium level control - Please DON'T just start popping multiple D3 pills over 10,000 iu/day, see previous vit D3 posts]
