Maine scientists are celebrating what's being described as potentially "an incredible breakthrough" in cancer treatment. Researchers at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor have identified a molecule that can cause cancer cells to self-destruct. The research, published in the The Journal of Experimental Medicine, could eventually mean more effective treatment for cancer patients, with significantly fewer side effects than traditional chemotherapy.
