The Cancer Survivors Network (CSN) is a peer support community for cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, families, and friends! CSN is a safe place to connect with others who share your interests and experiences.

Thank you for being a part of the Cancer Survivor Network community. Survivors and caregivers like you have played a unique role in fostering an online environment that encourages connection among those needing support, community, and education. On May 28, the Network will be discontinued. More details are available here . If you have any questions, contact CSNSupportTeam@cancer.org. Thanks again for the support you’ve provided each other over the years. We remain committed to supporting you in other ways throughout your cancer journey.

Adieu to All

After many, many years, our meetings here at the CSN are over; it seems CSN is itself in end-stage disease and is soon to pass. I will remember several of you for as long as I live, and with several of you I am in touch via non-CSN email or other media.

I logged many thousands of posts, between this Board and the Prostate Cancer Board, and developed dozens of friends, even if the CSN administrators were not among them. I suspect they will find new careers at a Department of Motor Vehicles counter, or some other job that well-suites their mentality.

My own cancer journey began in 2009 at diagnosis, although my hematologist said that I must have had the disease for a long time prior to then. Advanced, bulky disease NLPHL, Stage III-B. Full remission after six months of treatment. in 2014, diagnosed with Stage II prostate cancer, cured via surgery in 2015. The NLPHL returned in 2022, again as Stage III, and again with bulky designation. NED after two years of Rituxan Maintenance. I remain in CR for both the Hodgkins and the PCa, as of my last PET scan. I develop recurring anemia, for reasons not yet identifiable by the doctors. I developed Basel Cell skin cancer two years ago, cured via surgery. The basal cell experience seemed almost a trifle, compared to the lymphomas.

The battle is always worth it. I am ready to fight again, whenever necessary. Do not lose hope, even if you lose all else. Character is more valuable than wellness.

To Po, Shady, Roc, and perhaps a dozen others, may you be blessed.

And, yes, to the CSN personnel, thank you as well.

Max

Hi Max, I intend to write my own farewell to this group which means so much to me, but I wanted to acknowledge yours. You meant a lot to me as I was recovering from lymphoma. We shared not only information, but also humor and music. Thank you my friend. I will always remember you.

    Cheers and blessings,

    Rocquie
