Cervical / Uterine Blockage

Hey ladies,
Can anyone give me some feedback? I went to the gyn/oncologist and they attempted to do an endometrial biopsy. They were unable to get to the uterus because something was blocking the entry. They tried poking this way, that way and another way........OUCH!!!! The cervix was bleeding pretty badly and they treated it with silver nitrate. This was 4 days ago and I'm still pretty sore. I have to go into the hospital so they can put me under and figure out a way to get past the blockage.
Has anyone else had this happen?
thanks!

    I had the same problem - I
I had the same problem - I had developed post-menopausal bleeding and my gyn wanted to do an endometrial biopsy - could not enter thru the cervix and I had to have a D & C with sedation at out-patient surgery - really glad he pursued my complaint as I was than later diagnosed with uterine cancer based on results of D & C -- early intervention saved my life as I have been NED for almost 5 years - anniversary will be May 2011

    That sounds like what they
That sounds like what they will be doing with me. How long was your recovery from the D&C? Did they have to go back later and remove the uterus?

    The D & C was very simple -I
The D & C was very simple -I arrived at 11:00 and was on my way home by 1:00 -- slightly crampy but no other issues - planned on taking next day off but really could have gone to work - slight discharge for about 3 days and knew my results 3 days later - surgery for total hysterectomy within 3 wks - my reg gyn referred me to a gyn-oncologist for my surgery and all of my follow-ups have been with the gyn-onc -- began with every 3 mos for 2 yrs and staggered to every 6 mos since - follow-up has been an internal and pap

    Thanks!
    Kelly,
Thanks for the feedback!!! I feel much more relaxed in my mind knowing I won't be out of commission for an entire week. I hate sitting around the house feeling crummy.
Thanks so much for answering my post!
