    checking in.
debbiejeanne, Ohio, SCC-Larnex, stage 1. Completed trmnt Oct. 22, 2009 (radiation only). Doing good even tho I have some long time side effects from radiation. Still unable to eat most foods due to horrible tastes but doc says what I have is all I will get. That's ok, I'm cancer free and don't have to worry to much about gaining back any of the 90 lbs I lost.
    God Bless You All,
    debbiejeanne

Still here and I've got as
Still here and I've got as much hair back as I had before treatment. Still, can only taste sweet, randomly. But most other tastes seem to be working and the dry throat is getting better, as is swallowing. I feel I'm 95% back and getting better.

Mid January, 2010 - NPC, 2 of 3 rounds of chemo, then 7 wks,35 radiation with weekly chemo. Completed treatment in May of 2010(or there abouts). Had dehydration during the initial chemo that sent me back to the Onc. for fluids. Also, did not have the last round of initial chemo, because I developed pulmanary embolisms in both lungs and spent a week under observation at the local hospital. I now take Cumadin(sp?) to prevent reoccurance of the blood clots. I still have my chemo port, but the Doc says that it will be ok to remove it and stop the cumadin at the 1 year anniv of the embolisms, that will be March of this year.

Thank you all for the inspiration and support I have received here.

    Check in Jan 2011
Still clear. The latter part of last year - had several urinary and eye infections. The doctors decided to check me for vitamin D. (a bit low - 10 compared to an average of 30). So I'm now on a mega dose of vitamin D for 8 weeks, after that, I should try some supplements.

Otherwise, life is good. I just celebrated my 58th birthday. Seven years ago, I was still undergoing chemo.

Wishing everyone a happy new year!

ENT performed an incisional biopsy on 21/07/10 and a well-differentiated infiltrating squamous cell carcinoma was found on the right side of the tongue and then was clinically staged as a T3 N2c Mx Ca Oral cavity. Started chemo treatment on the 22/02/11. God bless us all!

Many have not checked back in for year 2011. The list will be updated in July 2011. This is a voluntary enrollment program. Here are the instructions:

The enrollment date is not when you first had the cancer, but when you joined our roll call group. When you check in, provide a brief summary so others can read on your case and status. The date of enrollment and date checked in need not be provided. I can extract the information from the date of your posting.

If enrolling for the first time, please provide information on where you are from, type of cancer and date diagnosed (if known), your treatment and status. If you prefer to only list your state or country, that will be fine. The date the information was posted for the first time will be the enrollment date.
