    Hmmmm....
I'll have to look at the buddy list.

Something sour hit me when I did my butt photo for dizz regarding the calendar. I sent them to her email and just never logged back on. I know that there are friends on FB and they would know I'm not dead. I know, no excuse for not logging in here...

I know I've been MIA for a while. I just needed to get out. I know if anyone understands, it's you guys. Between family and holidays it's been busy for me.

My daughter and I just returned from a vacation in Maui. That was special and will be very fondly remembered for the rest of my life. I think we did everything there might have been to do. It's truly paradise if you ever want to go.

My brother is doing worse with his cancer. Please, keep him in your prayers as well.

I have an appointment tomorrow to get my port flushed and to also get my CEA/CBC drawn as well as go to my surgeons and sign my consent for my 1 year followup colonoscopy which is happening next Tuesday (the 27th).

I've been fighting a little with my insurance company and also a lab that did my genetic testing about payments. Nothing serious, but a real drop through the crack in communication went on. More bills...

I'll try to be better and log in more often. I probably will now that my vacation is over and I'm back to work. Not promising anything though for the rest of the month. I'm scheduled double time for the next two weeks. :)

    Love you guys.

    Merry Christmas
Never posted much and have not in a long while. Still come on to read though often, think I probably always will. There is a special connection to people going thru the same thing even if we never meet. Devastated at the loss this past year of some special people here. Truly looked forward to seeing Donnas smiling face, Erics slightly sarcastic posts, and the so many others that have left. I am saddened but compelled to come back and see how others are doing. Have a happy Christmas and here's to a healthy 2011.

    Turning into a lurker
Merry Christmas to everybody. I have been checking in daily and just doing a few minutes of reading to make sure everybody is doing okay. I have been really busy trying to catch up on everything that took a back seat while battling the beast. We now have heat in the house again, so nice to not have to carry firewood into the house to stay warm. Seems strange having heat coming out of the vents. Also work has been busy for me, which is a good thing. Keeps your mind off of the minor aches and pains of daily life. This will be a really special Christmas since my scans all came back clear as you recall. Neuropathy is still a problem in the hands and feet and my short term memory has really gotten bad. Probably due to me taking on more stuff at work and home. All in all, life is darn good. Hope you all are doing as well as you can. Happy Holidays.

Haven't posted in a long while but have been lurking and noticed a lot of new faces. It seems like a really l o n g year since my dx Oct. 2009. Finished 11 of 12 tx of Folfox and had my colonoscopy a few weeks ago. Had 1 polyp which was snipped and doc recommended another procedure in 5 years. Am I going to live that long???? Scans have been clear and I pray everyday that it stays that way. I am driving cancer patients under the Angels on Wheels program and I have a lot of compassion and patience with them now. Funny how cancer can change your whole outlook on life! Do you think that God sent cancer our way to teach us a lesson? I am still bothered by neuropathy in hands and feet but I feel that it's a small price to pay for my life. This time last year I was scared and sick but you folks really helped me and I've come a long way. May you all have a blessed Christmas and a hopeful and healthy New Year. And for those of you on the Mainland, KEEP WARM!!!!!

    Lurking in the shadows
I have rarely posted anything on this board, but I look at it at least once a week. Just reading everyone's comments has helped me deal with this monster.

    A little history:

Diagnosed in August '08 with rectal cancer Stage 2 with no lymph nodes affected, 6 weeks 5fu via infusion pump plus radiation, surgery in Dec '08, removed rectum and most of decending colon, however, was connected back together. Had a temp iliostomy until Aug '09. Also had six months of chemo, 5fu and Leukivorin. In August '09 has temp iliostomy removed.

Since then have had 2 pet scans and two colonoscopies, all negative.

Only problem now is with poop control. Started doing a daily enema in oct'09 (dr suggestion) and now life is great again. I can go and do what I want without worry.

    hi
hi i check here probably once a week or so. never really felt like i was one of the gang but still tried to offer input or nutritional advice when i could. i did get everyones xmas cards and i want to thank you all so much. i am hoping next year i will be able to send out my own. my health is currently pretty good. i just got my port out on wednesday and recently had a clear ct scan and bloodwork. i am at about 2.5 years ned from stage IIIa. i struggle with the menopause and severe hip stiffness from radiation, and now a coworker has been diagnosed with rectal cancer as well and is just starting this journey, so i have been spending some time helping her. god bless everyone and my thoughts are with you all.
