Healings

Has anyone ever experienced what they think was a true healing? Many people who have, I have read and have personally experienced, feel a certain warmth or heat accompanied by a profound change in their emotional or physical wellness.

Just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them or knows of anyone who has had it happen. It's a fascinating phenomenon.

If you haven't had this happen to you or know of anyone else who has what is your view on healings? Are they real? What are they? Why do they happen to only certain people or do they happen to everyone but they just aren't as sensitive to them as others might be?

Blessings,
Bluerose

I have not had a healing
I have not had a healing experience but have had other experiences. I wonder like you why it happens to some and not others. I am leery to talk of them to others because people who believe in God will doubt me because it hasn't happened to them and people who don't believe in God will think I'm making it up. So I've only told a few people. I did have the experiences on a website once where viewers didn't know who I was and couldn't contact me. I don't need people telling me I'm crazy. I was hoping people who needed to see it would be lead to it for hope, faith, belief. I don't know if anyone even saw it but it was out there a couple years.

I think many people have experienced
healings. If you ever get a chance, read Dodie Olsteen's story.

    Hi Bluerose
I am not sure if being heal comes with a feeling every time. I know I am heal but never had any feeling other then just believing that God will take care of me. I did feel God at my side one time and my body shook for the longest time afterwards, then there was a voice that just said remember that I love you. No one else was in the house but me and my wife and she was sleeping.

    Take care

During my healing I had a voice confirm that what I was thinking was right. It said 'Yes, this is a healing'. I don't remember if it also said 'from God' or I just KNEW that in that deep KNOWING kind of way that you do when you have been personally touched.

It's hard to talk about as others have said because people who haven't experienced a form of this tend to think you are bananas but I know what I experienced so that's all that counts. I just brought this up because it's so sad that when thins like this happen, which I know gives people hope, people are too afraid to admit it and that's not right either. No one is forcing anyone to believe or not, just sharing experiences no matter how extreme they may be. It's so hard to not share that kind of thing and these things are just passed over and dismissed and what a shame. Can give so many hope.

I think it happens more often than we know and sometimes people don't realize it has taken place maybe so that's why we don't hear about it more.

Thanks for sharing your experience. You must have felt so warm and safe when you heard those words I bet. Wonderful. Ya I don't think it always comes with the same kind of feeling for everyone.

Is she related to Joel Olsteen?
Not sure of the spelling of that evangelist but I will look it up. Thanks Sylvia. Oh I'm sure it happens more than we know. Fantastic.

    You know what you experienced
and that's the important thing. Like Hondo said, some people might not experience any particular feeling at a time of a healing or contact so many probably go unreported. I still think that there is some kind of feeling though, probably very subtle in some, so that might tend to mask more events.

I know for me after it happened I had a total peace come over me and reassurance that the cancer wouldnt be back. I knew later that maybe I would get a different cancer down the road perhaps but not the same one. It's that kind of KNOWING that I have never experienced before in anything else. Pretty cool. First I thought maybe it was just really good chemo drugs that were giving me the illusion but soon realized, nope that wasn't it. lol.

Thanks for sharing Marcia. Take care.

    Miracle Still Happen
Bluerose you are so right that people think that we are nuts, but I am a nut that is alive and doing well.

About 5 months ago I started having a lot of bad pain in my head, I went to my local oncal doc he did a MRI that said my Cancer tumor was growing and pushing on my brain and that was giving me a lot of pain.

Being I had radiation twice already all he could offer me was more Chemo or go to MD Anderson in Houston and see if they will do Proton treatment on me. That week I asked for anointing from our Church Elders, they prayed over me and anointed me with oil.

The next week we were at MD Anderson with the report from my local Oncal doc, they reviewed his finding and said they needed to do a PET to see where the tumor was and size.

Guess what the PET showed that I was NED.

I was mad at the local doctor until my daughter said to me Dad don’t get mad at the doctor because God healed you of the Tumor.

Out of the mouth of babe thou has perfect blessings

God be with you my friend

    Hi Kathy
Miracles the Bible tells us that faith is the substance of things we hoped for and the evidence of things that we have not yet seen, and if anyone is sick we should call for the elders of the church and let them pray over them anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. I believe this is still as good today as it was back then and that Jesus back then is the same Jesus today and he is still doing miracles for his children. Sometimes the answer is not as fast as we would like it to be, I had to go through this 3 times. I don’t know why but like Job I will find out someday, and I hope it is while sitting at his feet and hearing the story of a God who loved his children so much that he gave his life to save them.

There's More Going on than Meets the Eyes
I think there is a lot more going on than we are aware of. I believe our bodies and minds have an incredible power to heal themselves. I have not experienced a healing nor do I know anyone who has had a "healing" but I do believe that they can happen. I do also think that positive energy from others can help people in many ways. Just as negative can affect people, I think positive can have an affect too.

I think everyone has the potential to tap into different parts of their "energy" but the trick is getting in touch with it.

10 Years ago I was practicing a Korean form of yoga. The instructors would do this energy thing where they would put their hands near your body and the heat that came off of their hands was incredible. There was also an exercise we all would do where we focused our energy on our hands and would cup our hands, then slowly bring the hands together but without touching. The more I would focus, my hands would repel from each other as if they were opposite magnets. Of course if I really tried to make them touch I could but with having them relaxed, they would naturally repel if one stayed focused on it. I enjoyed the practice until it became a group who was just after you to go on this "special event" and became more about $$$ and less about the spirituality and being in touch with things.

    Yes Bluerose,
it's Joel Olsteen's Mother. She was healed by claiming God's Word over her.

You're right Phil, I think there have been studies that prove being positive, surrounding yourself in a loving environment, practicing forgiveness, laughing frequently...helps a body physically, emotionally and spiritually as opposed to surrounding yourself with negativity.

Going through treatment, it's really easy to get stuck in "negativity mode" because of all the hard things you have to endure. There were a few people I would call that would just pump optimism and hope in me and I would feel better. Those people were and still are invaluable and I am forever grateful for their support.

    :)

    Thanks for sharing Phil
Healing touch, or not touching healings, lol, are interesting indeed. I once went to a chiropractor who I didn't realize was a touch healer and left there not touched at all physically by hime but when he put his hands, cupped as you said, over my back YIKES it was like my back was on fire.

After the session he said to get up slowly and sit, don't get up right away, as I would feel dizzy from all the energy moving around, and I thought 'ya right'. Well I sat up and woah, just about fell over. Had to sit there for 20 minutes before I could get up and get moving. Something obvioiusly happened to make me feel like that with no one touching me at all.

It makes total sense to me that since we are full of electricity as human beings that there is a discharge of energy from us all the time and just as sensical to me that certain people can focus that energy coming and going towards others. Energy never really goes away, just transforms so if you look at it that way so much that seems impossible becomes possible. We have only just begun to understand a small part of the human condition and what lies beyond our sightlines.

I once practised Transcendental Meditation, seemed pretty easy for me for some reason, and not long after I had been practising it I experienced out of body. Now, that's a mind bender if you havent gone through that. The interesting thing is that with both the out of body experience where I found myself watching myself meditate from a corner of the ceiling to the near death experience I had (two actually) in neither case did I study those kinds of situations or in fact seek them out, they just happened to me. Maybe the first thing that you need to have is an open mind, maybe that is the way it starts, don't know of course for sure - who does?

I just know that my experiences cleared up alot of questions for me and truly once you have had the hnour of being touched you KNOW things you only speculated about before. A KNOWING is placed within you like you have never felt before. Wish I could give a little of that to everyone on this board, a Xmas present from me. It's wonderful.

Have a great holiday season Phil, you are a true gift to the site.

    Blessings,

    Kathy you are so right
I've always been joyful, and at peace, very calm. When dx with breast cancer I thought of when Paul, and Silas were put in jail unjustly. As a result of them being there every prisoner including the guards came to know Jesus, and called on Him to save them. I thought the cancer dx was a way of getting me in the system, so to speak. As a result many many wonderful things have happened. The good have far outnumbered the bad.

I wasn't instantly healed, but my treatments, were cut short because of doing so well.
My dr admitted to me "it is simply amazing" at how well I've done, and how quickly. I have had 3 drs. tell me that I was their "miracle patient."

    Awesome!!!

    Absolutely Kathy
Yup I totally agree. I think miracles are happening all the time to lots of people but perhaps they miss the meaning of these little things that make them feel better or take away some of their worries. I know that for me if I have something nice happen to me or I receive something out of the blue that I need I always say a little prayer of thanks. I don't believe in coincidences, but rather believe in a little saying i heard some time ago. It went something like ' coincidences are God's way of remaining anonymous'. lol. I thought that was pretty good.

You may have lots of missions in life Kathy but to me one of them is clear to everyone who reads your posts on this board - you make us all smile and no matter what we all are going through individually you always manage to give us hope and positivity. Just that smile on your face in that picture you have posted here is enough to brighten our days. That's your gift to us, or one of them anywho.

Have a great holiday season Kathy and take care of you.

    Blessings,

Woah good one, out of the mouths of babes for sure.

Prayer is so powerful and group prayer even more so, I totally believe in both out of personal experience and from listening to testemonies like yours.

Recently I was told the lining of my uterus was thick, out of nowhere that seemed to happen. Of course with my history they don't take anything lightly so they scheduled another pelvic ultrasound for just last week. I went in and all the while in the waiting room to have the ultrasound I prayed that the lining got thinner and surgery wouldn't be necessary.

Flash forward a few days and I went in to my oncologist who said 'well the lining has got thinner and I don't think you need the surgery right now or ever'. LOL. I nearly fell off the couch. I broke out in this smile which puzzled the doc on one level as it was so broad a smile but I knew what had happened - totally.

The other day I was worrying about how much I over spent for Xmas and had included the worry in my nightly prayers. I went down to the mailbox yesterday and in it was only one envelope. When I opened it it was a cheque for a hundred dollars from my province I live in. It was the tax rebate that they give us yearly. I didn't remember this took place and was shocked when I got my prayer answered. It totally helped. This kind of thing has happened several times to me.

Anywho I could go on and on with things that have happened to me like this over the years, and I don't think it's uncommon either, just some people recognize the links in prayer and miracles more than others do but they still happen to many many people if not all, at some point in their lives.

It's all very comforting to experience and realize though, prayer works. No doubt about it.

    Happy Holidays kiddo,

    Bluerose
