I know today is your eval with Dr. Lenz. I hope all goes especially well and, fingers crossed, he might be able to get you into the PRI724 trial or at least one of the others they are starting at USC. I will say another prayer before I leave this morning just to make sure I get an extra one in for you.

I'm getting ready for my chemo this morning and to anyone else, good luck! I know some of us are doing our treatments this week.

Lou, good luck with your FOLFOX this round. Hang in there.

Craig, I know you're having your rads (as Pepe says) this week too

Pepe, you still doing more rads? If so good luck to you too and stay out of trouble while Tote is gone.

Kenny and Natalie, I would say good luck with the FOLFOX but you guys got a get out of jail free card and played it this week. WTG!

Brooks, hope you are still recovering at a good speed.

Winter Marie, I know getting ready for surgery is on your mind along with your Thanksgiving with Mom.

Clift, I don't know what you are to but, been missing you lately so I'm hoping things are going so well you don't have time to post.

AnneCan, I hope that your infection is settling down and you have better energy.

Mags and Kathy, I hope your decorations are looking wonderful and your homes are full of the holiday spirit.

And each everyone else, I hope that this week brings lots of love and good fortune. It's a busy week here in the States so I expect the holiday will bring some stresses and lots of entertainment. Everyone have a great beginning to the week. I'm off to chemo and in a bit of a hurry now because I'm addicted to my semicolon family here. So, as I used to say to the employees in the office each Monday morning .....

HAPPY MONDAY!

You're officially appointed the new "hall monitor." LOL:)

Somebody has gotta' keep all the chickens in the hen house.

On my way out to the hospital as well for another radiation treatmnt and a fresh bag of 5fu - hey and just in time for the holidays:)

While everyone around the nation is getting all liquored up, I'll be here doing "5fu Shots" and hoping I won't run dry, LOL:)

Thanks, Lori - you remind me of myself many moons ago when I could keep up with everyone and their activities. Best of luck on your chemo treatment, #4 isn't it?

    Now, Craig....
5FU IS a chemical. Same as alcohol (ok, give me some leeway here...lol). So...well...

Hugs to you, my favorite 'southern gentleman'!!!

    So sweet
Lori I hope your Monday goes very good also. Mine should be interesting. My daughter (she is 25 and is very involved in my care) wants me to try to go the the grocery store with her for Thanksgiving supplies. I'm 10 days post iliostomy reversal andf the my priority now is the bathroom most days. I seem to have enough normal times to get comfortable, then bam, there I am rushing across the room.....Oh well, I'm going to try and make the best of the day and get out with my wonderful daughter. I may have an interesting memory from this day.

    Smiling, Gail

    Hi Lori,

You are so sweet to think of me and everyone else :)
I leave for the drive up to L.A. in 2 hrs (afternoon appt). Today's my daughter's birthday- she is 15. She is pouting and angry at me for leaving her today, in spite of the fact that I talked about how the appt day wasn't my choice and it was the only opening until after Christmas- she still acts like I am "doing" this to her. She's totally in the "id" teen mode- the world revolves around her. I am doing my best to not get mad at her on her birthday. We'll be going out for Chinese for dinner tonight when I get back- her request.
Anyhow, I'm a bit nervous to see Dr. Lenz and hear what he has or doesn't have for me. I don't think the stem cell drug trial is up and running yet- so we will see. He's the one who had the idea of me taking the Gemzar when my regular onc didn't know what to do, so hopefully he will have something up his sleeve for me.

Take care and I am also thinking of and praying for everyone else on the board and all their situations too.

    Hugs,
    Lisa

    Good Luck to All
Hoping for Great days ahead for all. For those with children at home, I can't imagine the added stress this whole journey adds. I have a grown daughter living here and while she doesn't really understand all of the crap we go through at least I don't have the growing pains to deal with.

Hope that everyone has easy times with their various treatments, tests and whatnot.

My family Doc recently asked me how I was doing and I said "I haven't killed anybody yet!" He looked at me kinda strange and I'm sure he made an interesting note in my file! ( see if he ups my meds!)

Hope everyone is well enough to eat whatever they want this week, that we all make it to the bathroom in time and we don't kill anyone! ( Note...I am not getting together with my husband's family as we live too far away :) So sorry! )LOL

    Have a Great Week!

    late night check in
    HI Everyone,

A late night check in (11:35 p.m. Calif time)- Too tired to give details now, but I had a safe drive up to L.A. and back to Fallbrook (north San Diego county) & Dr. Lenz was very, very nice. I was so pleased at that because I was honestly really worried that he would yell at me (as his bedside manner was not the best last time- very gruff, in fact, so pleased and relieved that he seemed very kind and caring this time).
Anyhow, in a nutshell... I will not be going on the trial that I was hoping for with the drug that targets the cancer stem cells. It won't be starting up until probably mid January now, but that's not why I won't be starting it. I realize now after he explained things that it would not be the best thing for me to do now.
I'll explain more later- tomorrow (Tues) afternoon, probably.
I am having chemo tomorrow, so I won't probably post until after I get home from that. I'm going to stick with what I'm on for now.

We had a nice birthday dinner out for my daughter tonight. I got home from L.A. at 5:45 & we left within a few minutes of getting home, so it was a long day.
Chemo's at 8:30, so I'll not be sleeping in- maybe sleeping in the chemo chair, though!

Thank you to so many of you who were praying and/or thinking of me- I truly felt it & even though I'm not getting in a clinical trial, I feel like things are still under control and I still have possibilities out there.

    Hugs,
    Lisa
