I feel like a normal guy again
    Pepe,

They cut the damn steroids dose for me in half again today. For the first time in well over a week I feel like a normal guy. The anti brain seizure drug does not seem to faze me.

Now tomorrow I am going to fire up my chainsaw. I have 2 big old post oaks that need to be thinned from the woods that are coming down. If you have a 12 inch thick tree, you don’t want any tree for a 12 feet radius around it. It’s called making a healthy forest

Then the new log splitter will get its work out. It’s going to be a fun healthy day. I need to work this steroid crap the hell out of me. The firewood from this will warm us for about 3 weeks next winter.

Thank you I will sure do my best to help it remember what to do. It's hard that it's happening at Thanksgiving.

    Cheer up Pepe!
Let's see...I was trying to think up something exotic to say that I was going to do...just to cheer you up.But in reality, I hurt my back somehow 3 weeks ago and it won't heal. So, I am going to sit in my oversized chair all weekend watching TV with a heating pad and gobble down muscle relaxers, Advil, pain pills whatever it takes to eliminate this misery.Going to Onc. Monday. Maybe she will have some better idea?

Meanwhile,Good news!! I have my reservations for the cruise. Going for a 5 day Yucatan. Already been there but will be fun anyway and got great price. Maybe my back will be well by August?

Cheer up Pepe. Not good to be so down and out. Your wife will come home soon and Y'all can celebrate her homecoming.

    Hey, Pepe.

Tonight we went downtown for the Christmas tree lighting. Fun times. Saw lots of people we know and took our daughter and grandchildren. Love it!

Tomorrow night our oldest grandson is spending the night with us and going to the Christmas parade. It's too late by the time it's over for the 2 younger ones. So Owen will get special attention and go to church with us on Sunday. There's a pancake breakfast that morning, so he'll love that!

    *hugs*

    A 1st date with someone I
A 1st date with someone I have never met in person before, should be interesting or at least I hope so. We are meeting at a bar to watch a hockey game, so I guess even if the date does not work, at least there will be hockey and beer.

    Thank you Lori S
I have an article that Lori S sent me that I will be reading and hope to get some help from.....Gail

    Hey Gail!
Welcome home. I'm so glad to see you back to posting and recuperating from your reversal. Use that info cause I know people who swear by it. Our intestines just don't like to be messed with and they rebel after surgery. You're going to have to be patient and retrain your system again. You'll do fine, I'm sure. Take it easy. Oh, and you are welcome for the articles. HUGS

Have a fun time on your date. Even if you 2 don't hit it off in a "romantic" way you can still have fun. And please be safe with someone you don't know. Make sure that someone else has the information on where you are going and who you are meeting. Just some protective advice cause I care. But, most of all have FUN.

PS: don't forget to come back online and let us know how it went.

Now that you're feeling better does this mean we aren't running away together? Have a great weekend with your chainsaw and log splitter.

    daughter's b-day
Monday is my middle child's (oldest daughter) birthday- she is turning 15. Since I'll be gone most of the day going to L.A.that day to see Dr. Lenz and my husband will be working a long day, we are celebrating her birthday on the weekend.
It's supposed to rain here this weekend, so I guess no outdoor activities, but going to the mall and getting a manipure/pedicure is what she wants to do on Saturday, anyhow.

I'm looking forward to my kids' week-long Thanksgiving break next week, so I don't have to get up so early to get them going and to school. A little relax time!
We'll be having Thanksgiving at my mother in law's house- my family of five, one of sisters in law and family (also of 5), and my mom and stepdad will all be there, all bringing something to share (gotta talk to MOL today to decide what we should all bring).

We have rain coming into Vegas too this weekend and it's going to be a cold rain not a warm rain. bbbbbrrrrrrrrr. Have a great weekend for your daugther's birthday. I hope your consult with Dr. Lenz goes well. Monday is chemo for me so just in case I don't get a chance to wish you well, know that I will be thinking of you on Monday.

    Have a great weeekend!
Gail. vaseline to the behind keeps the STUFF from touching your skin!

Me, well went to Costco this morning for all my fruit for the week, other then that probably just spending a quiet weekend at home. Watching Dora, over and over again...my 2 year grand daughter wakes up and the first thing she says as she snuggles on my neck, is Dora! At least she learning a lot, we have Dora on: On Demand, DVR, DVD, Netflext..it plays on the flatsreen, computer, ipad and iphone!

She is a whiz at my IPhoe and IPad and can play all the apps, without help. She can even enter my passcode! age 2.5

    Surgery
They reversed my iliostomy. So far everything seems to have gone well from the surgery and that is what I was told. But now my whole GI tract has forgot what to do with food and that makes things a little uncomfortable. If I eat, I can expect to be rushing for the bathroom for hours. The surgery site is very bearable, although I seem to be sneezing a lot now and that does hurt. It's the diarrhea and burning to the behind that goes with it that is soo frustrating and painful.

How are you doing with the chemo and radiation? What week are you in?

    Gail

thanks God I'm doing pretty well Gail.
lm only in my 2nd week l hope it continues the same, question of luck ....
    Best.
