I want to say thank you so much for all your thoughts. This has been such a rough weekend for us. Friday afternoon we went to the hospital, Aley met us there and my neighbor and her daughter were there too. My neighbor practically helped raise pogo and potty train while we worked. So she was surrounded with love.

She died in my arms. She's at peace. My heart is still very heavy and I miss her so much. Our other dog Gidget is grieving too and we have to be strong for her too. We have taken her to an off leash dog park yesterday for the first time and she had a wonderful time playing with other dogs which she's never really done.

Jim and I picked out a little brother for Gidget. He's a blue heeler and should get to come home in the next week or so. His name is Sam. He'll never take Pogo's place, but he should be a good companion for Gidget.

My house is too quiet. Pogo was such an integral part of our house and home.

Thanks everyone.

Beth

    New Pic
Ok, here's a picture of Sam. He's a fat little fur ball LOL. There is a black spot on the top of his head which can barely be seen from the front, but he's easy to spot from above :)

    aww, thanks!
    Hi, Sue,

Oh, thanks for the lovely comment. I love your comment because I am the new me!! This one is little too distant - I will try to figure out how to make it bigger. Anyway, I plan to send more pics later of myself with different scarves, I love them. Maybe this is one way for me to relive in the 60's and 70's, ha! Don't know if you ever worn them in the older days - different scarves/hats may suit better for different women's heads - you may want go to the dept store and ask for advice if you care to do so. Oh, this reminds me I still have my mother's old 1930's flapper type of hat that maybe I will wear that this winter - a purple one!

    Love,
    Liz

    Hi Liz,
The only time I wore a headscarf was back in high school when we would roll our hair in the big fat brush rollers and then wear the bandanna's over them. That was when we wore the peg leg jeans that were so tight they looked painted on us...ha! I remember me and my gal pals going downtown to the dime store in our rollers, tight pants, keds tennis shoes and letterman jackets thinking we were "oh so cool"! I still have my hair...so (knock on wood), maybe I have a little more time before I have to even think about what to put on my head. Got a couple of wigs, but with winter being here, I'll probably stick close to home and wear nothing on my head un-less absolutely necessary. Please DO post more pictures...I just LOVE seeing pictures! Love..Sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)

    Thanks
He is a cutie that's for sure. We are going out to see him again tomorrow evening. I can't wait to see if his colors are coming in better. He's a sweetie.

Gidget has just started eating again and actually played for a little bit last night. It was nice to see a glimpse of a happy dog again :)

I loved the scarves. I made my own and chose colors and patterns that would match my outfits. I never had the desire to get a wig, plus it was 104 outside and the hotflashes were raging so the less the better. LOL

    Comfort is KEY!
    Take care everyone,

    Beth

    21 year old cat?
Oh man I cannot imagine how hard that would have been losing your old friend. I'm not sure my grumpy old man cat could hang on that long :) he's about 13 and not thrilled with the dogs in my house. I hope Charlie and Sam can get along, but I am sure that Gidget will share her bad habit of chasing him.

I get to go see Sam tomorrow and I'm excited.

    Take care,
    Beth

Had regrets for my old cat
    Hi, Beth,

I really had the regret of not letting my indoor cat, Sake go until with a chance that the door opened she ran away finally to die and never be found. She did not seem too comfortable throwing up sometimes but kept on eating daily. I think I could put her down few years earlier. I wish I had said goodbye to her so I learned my lesson. BUT the odd thing was that I saw a very young cat (with an unusual color spot on her nose) looking exactly like Sake few weeks later in the middle of a parking lot at the mall. I could not catch her. Feels like it tells me she up there is doing ok in peace. Well, that is strange, isn't it?

    Take care,
    Liz
