Back away from the window folks!!!!
Got off the computer earlier and decided to wash the living room windows..(project hubby was to do a month ago). Got the window toppers down and in the wash, screens out and two removeable side windows into the living room....(I'm exhausted by now) and Oh...did I mention that our home is a two story and the living room windows sit 12 feet from the ground with a decorative tree below them? Anyways...In order to wash the main picture window I'm going to have to hang out each of the removeable side windows and
s-t-r-e-t-c-h wayyyy out...(hubby has a pole he uses that he brings home from work and stands below to wash them with)...but ohhhh noooo I can't wait for hubby to do it the right and safe way... so old blondie here gets the bright idea to use the broom...so I rubber bands a cloth to it and proceeds to hang out the side windows to reach the main big window...1/4 of the way through I am swetting like a w!@&# in church and having one hot flash after another...the window cleaner is streaking, my heart is racing and I just know any minute I'm going to pass out and fall to the tree below. I kid you not...I am shaking from head to toe and feel so weak that I just give up, climb back in the window, put the screens back in along with the still dirty side windows and then drag myself to the couch. While I'm laying there...(out of breath, shaking, and gasping for air)...the phone rings... see that it's hubby calling.... I'm thinkin.."oh man"..."be cool"...so I raggedly say "hi honey"...(wheezing for air)..."how's the fishin goin"? He hesitantly says "good"...and follows with.."what the hells wrong with your breathing". I say..."oh nothin..just hurried from the kitchen to answer the phone"...long pause on the other end of the phone, then he says..."what the hell Sue, you been doin somethin crazy again"? I finally told him the truth and needless to say he wasn't a happy camper by the time he hung up. Now I'm sitting here trying to get the energy to go in and shower and get the stink off of me...toppers are still in the washer...my tummys growling...feel like I've been run over by a truck..(look like it too)...and can't think what will be the easiest thing to shove in my mouth for diner without having to cook...ha! Sooooo....word to the wise...if any of you get the bright idea to wash your windows, and your one week out of treatment...DON'T- DO- IT...close the drapes...go to another room...WHATEVER!!!...ha! My windows now look 10 times worse than when I started!!!UGH! Well...I've rested enough now after writing this that I might be able to stay standing long enough to get my shower. I'm thinkin the rest of the weekend will be spent doing peaceful things...ya think?...ha! Hope you all have a good one...Love...Sue

    Oh Sue,
What were you thinking? Very scary and not to safe. Please be careful. I couldn't stand it, if you were hurt. If a big job or even a small job needs doing, please let Steve do it. It CAN wait till another day. I hope you resting now and able to eat a little something. Please take care..

    I CAN RELATE TO THAT
    Sue,
I know just how you feel. When I went to Md. after my 5th round I was dragging. My son bought some tire rims and had to go to the bus depot to pick them up. I helped him and they felt like they weighed 100 lbs. each. It really wore me out and I was short of breath to boot. I tried to carry a 30 lb. bag of dog food in the house for our dogs and I had to carry it with both arms and it still felt like a ton. After my 6th round was over about 4 weeks later I picked those rims up to put them in the garage attic. They felt like nothing. The dog food is like picking up 10 lbs. I can carry it with one hand like it is nothing now. Thats the way it used to be. Thats how I know the strenght is coming back. Take it easy until all the treatments are done. Then wait at least 3 weeks before you do anything that takes endurance and strenght. It will hit you all of a sudden if you don't. The simple things that you used to do will be a real chore til this stuff starts to let us have our strenght and endurance back. John (FNHL-1-4A-5/10)
PS. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO CLEAN SOME WINDOWS,JUST JUMP ON A PLANE AND COME TO FAYETTEVILLE AIRPORT.WE GOT A WHOLE LIST OF CHORES. WE'LL EVEN PICK YOU UP. HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!

    Sue,

Yeah, I can really relate. It is SO frustrating to not be able to do simple things. I'm trying to get better and leave things to my husband or for another day. I guess some of us have to learn the hard way, I"ve had my share of screw ups! So- this is an order!! Sit down or lay down. Read. Crochet. Call someone. Take a nap. Watch a movie. RELAX!! Don't make us call your husband!! haha Love ya, take care.

By the way guys, I'm Donna.

    :)

    I'm good...ha!
Thanks guys...I promise to be good from here on. Steve called back later last evening and said we were gonna have a "l-o-n-g" talk when he gets home...ha! I felt alot better after getting my shower and some food in me, and the only after effects from yesterday is my shoulders and upper arms are a little bit sore today. I've got a beef stew simmering in the slow cooker and a chocolate cream pie made for hubby...figure if I clean up and look nice and he has a good diner waiting for him when he comes in from fishing that he will pass on the l-o-n-g talk...ha!

    Sue - You're an Idiot
    Sue,
You're an idiot!!! I LOVE IT!!!! Best to-hell-with-cancer story I've read yet.
Totally stupid, but a really good story.

HOWEVER, since you were the first one to greet me in here, and since you and I are very close.... I mean in our treatment schedule, I will never forgive you if you do something else stupid and get yourself hurt. Purely selfish, of course, since I would just miss you too much. So, please don't do that again.

    Really enjoyed your story.

    Be careful,
    Tom (DLBCL-4-7/10)

    I KNOW!!!!
    Hey Tom,
Yes...it "WAS" a stupid thing to do. Steve just called and said he's on the road headed home from fishing. That gives me about 2 1/2 hours to spruce up and greet him with a big smile while "batting my eyes at him"...he was soooooo mad yesterday. Maybe he will see my sweet face and for-go the "l-o-n-g" talk he said we are going to have...ha! Don't worry...no more "BIG" projects until chemo is done...promise!
