CHRISTMAS CARD LIST

Hello Everyone!

For the old timers here, yep its that time again, for our new friends, we would like to invite you to join us in our Christmas Card list.

Here is the deal, our dear friend Donna (RIP) and I worked together last year to get Christmas card list for those who wanted to participate, we created the list, shared it with those that wanted it, and I believe everyone really enjoyed all the Christmas cards they got.

I want to thank Ms. Lovekitties, she saw the old posts, and took the bull by the horns and started up the Christmas card list for this year. I am posting to offer her my support and help in this endeavor.

If you would like to share your address, and also allow your address to be shared with others, so that you can send and receive Christmas cards, please email me or PM me your address. Time is getting short, so please do so soon. I would like to have the Christmas Card list out No later that Thanksgiving before if I can. My email is in my expression page, I will post it here to but sometimes they block that out for some reason...DOROOKIE2003 at yahoo dot com

Please put Christmas Card list in the subject line, also please include your name you use on the board. thank you, I dont want to delete an email from someone I dont know and it was meant for the list. Thanks

    ALL please get me your address as soon as you can. Believe me this was a big hit last year its so nice to get so many cards...

    I'm so glad this is going to happen again this year. I thought about it, but just didn't know if I could do it, so I'm glad you two are taking the reins. I think Donna is in heaven smiling at the thought of all those cards being sent out to friends.

    Thank you Gail and Barb, I got your information. But I have to be honest, it was Lovekitties that got this going again this year, she is the one that allowed me to help. I was really feeling down and not even thinking about Christmas, to many losses this year, but when she asked for my help, I said I would like to help, and I thought Donna would like it too, just like you said, to see everyone getting the cards, I can just see her smiling about it.

    So i am glad to help, but the thanks goes to Lovekittes as well.

    Its going to be so much fun getting cards from all over again this year, even without Donna here, she is still with us in our hearts!

    I have the old list from last year, however on it has the names and addresses of several that have passed away, should I still include them on the list I send out?

    For some I know it would be hard, but I think Donna's Family would love to hear from all of us, and to Adrian too, but those are my thoughts,

    Please let me know what everyone thinks and I will go by the majority.

    Hi,

    I would think sending cards to the families would be nice too. I know the holidays are the worst for some people, but knowing that people care and remember can be a big help.

    Thoughts
    Dear Beth,

    I think that if we can identify on the list our friends who have passed so that we can address them to "The family of" it would be a wonderful thing to send them cards.

    It would be a reminder of just how much their loved one was thought of and remembered.

    Just my two cents.

    Personally, I think it is a very good idea. Writing a personal note to the family to let them know that they are being thought of would be special. Just my two cents.

    I think it's a good idea...but definately denote 'to the family of', and then let the sender decide...

    You are, as I said, once again a very thoughtful, loving person...I'm so honored that I can call you 'friend'!

    Go ahead and remove me from the Christmas list this year. I've been on 60% disability pay and will be into the new year, so I'm not in a position this year to participate. Things are challenging as you can imagine.

    I don't want folks sending me anything when I cannot reciprocate, just would not be right.

    Santa Craig and his crew are grounded this year - I've laid off the reindeer and sent the elves packing, LOL:)

    I'll miss putting my special packages together for everyone - you guys all enjoy and have a wonderful holiday season!

    I think it would be nice to send the families cards. Maybe for people who are newer here, you should designate which ones are like that?

    Last year
    Last year I had such an awful time with FOLFOX that I was worried I couldn't send cards and shouldn't participate. Everyone told me that they were serious about this being for everyone - that even if you can't send cards, if you would like to receive them, to get on the list.

    As it turned out, I was not able to send cards out. I felt guilty about it. But I really did enjoy the cards I received. There were some really rough days when receiving a card brought a little joy when I had none.

    Good idea
    I think that is a good idea, as long as they are flagged so we send to "family of."

    I should be on the list from last year, but there was some confusion about names, so I'll PM you.

    I am in the same position as last year, which I never expected. I'm back on chemo and having a really rough time right now, so if it doesn't improve, I might not get cards out myself. I will try. I'm still running my business, and I was so sick last chemo that I didn't get much done from Thursday through the following Saturday (9 days). I don't work on Sundays. I've been really enforcing that new rule, although it is hard for me (a ridiculous work-a-holic). That left me with today and Wednesday to do 2 weeks worth of work before my next chemo on Thursday. (I am out on Tuesdays for a Living Well with Cancer group that takes me away for 5 hours between the group time and drive time, so I will only be able to work a little tomorrow.)

    If my next cycles go like this, I won't have any time to get cards out.

    I am fairly new ( since April ) to this board, but I also want to send cards to everyone. Please put your name on the list. I am looking forward to sending out the cards and seeing where they are all going! I don't care if I get cards, I am enjoying the idea of having something creative to do after all these months of Chemo!
