    HAND UP...MEEEEE!!!!!!
My teeth have suffered horribly from Chemo.... and I am ...was... on Folfiri with Avastin. A few weeks back I had to have a tooth pulled and 2 root canals all in the same week... Yep... there are several here that have had tooth problems from chemo. Have you been to the dentist Pepe?

    Gums
My gums were swollen and bleed a lot more. Just had a checkup and although they are better, they still bleed more than they did before chemo. Sorry for your tooth ache. Yes, problems from chemo is very common.

    Me too!
I have read that chemo doesn't cause dental problems. I'll never believe that one! My dentist told me that he sees it all of the time after chemo. Personally, I had to get five crowns and two fillings 2 weeks after I got off chemo.Need more but hit the max on insurance and have to wait until Jan 1st. My teeth were good prior to that. Had been to the dentist 1 week prior to surgery, teeth all fine, and before chemo was finished the teeth were falling apart.

Pepe, get that wisdom tooth pulled if it has gone bad. You'll never miss that one.Better than having a big, bad infection, huh? You have my sympathy...I know it hurts.

    Wisdom tooth?
I think here in the United States, most of us don't have our wisdom teeth, pretty much every dentist informs us that it will impact the rest of our teeth, therefore getting the big bucks to remove the wisdom teeth. I guess, that's why I'm "herdizziness" they took my wisdom teeth at 19 years old, LMAO.
I have had a bit of problems with most of my teeth though since chemo, never used too. Oh well. I was just telling my hubby this morning I would have to make a trip to Alaska to get them taken care of, the insurances that I am on, do not cover dental, and it's cheaper for me to fly home, get a hotel and get my teeth taken care of at the Native Hospital then to even attempt to have it taken care of here "outside" (in the lower 48).
Hope that your teeth "aches" get over very soon!!!!

    Yes, I had dental

Yes, I had dental problems too! My dentist said it not uncommon. Just make sure you let your dentist know if you are on meds as she/he would probably want to not do any invasive work in your mouth to close to your treatment date. My dentist was in contact with my onc and scheduled my work for a couple of days before treatments so that I had some time for it to get through my system. Hope you get some help! Toothaches are so bad!! Best to you. Jean

    tooth aches
definitely see a dentist to have it checked out, but I found that I had sensitivity in my teeth when I was on chemo that actually must have related to nothing more than the chemo. Once I was off chemo the pain went away and there weren't cavities. Of course, I also had one of my teeth with an old filling in it crumble and have to get pulled while on treatment, so that's why I would suggest checking it out. Your dentist should check with your oncologist before actually performing any kind of procedures that can cause bleeding, etc, but xrays and a visual examination won't hurt. Hope it's nothing!

    Yep dental problems here
Yep dental problems here too! After chemo, I needed 3 root canals and 3 fillings redone. The Dentist said he KNOWS that chemo does this to our teeth, would be nice if the medical insurance companies would recognize this. I have dental insurance but is still cost me 3K out of pocket! ARGH!
