Sue,
I am sure you are still in La-La land with you being in the west coast time zone, but its 7am here on the east coast and time to feed the chickens and slop the hogs. Thats if we had any chickens and hogs to feed and slop. Anyway good luck on that pet scan today. You been thru it before so its really no big deal. Its just that waiting time to get your reults. All kinds of questions will be racing thru your mind from now till you get those readings. Just don't understand why it takes so long to get any results back. I got mine in 2 days. I got a copy of mine and they were read the same day I had my scan. I had it done at 1pm and it was read at 5:45pm the same day. They can say the results have to be sent out all they want, but I think they have fax machines on the west coast. Hospitals don't use the mail system for important stuff like this. They use fax machines and couriers. The postal servive could lose anything, that's their job. I bet if you were a Dr.or a politician they would have all the information by the end of the day. But who are we,just peons and tax payers that can wait and wonder for a couple of weeks. Bet you don't have to wait 2 weeks for the medical bills to be processed do you? Here I go again, getting up on that soapbox. Anyway good luck today and be thinking of ya!!! John

    From me too!
I second Johns good wishes and will pray for all the best. I hope you don't have to wait too long. I am really lucky with that. I do get my results the same day. It makes for a long day but when It's over it's over and I have always been thankful for this. I'll be thinking about you. Mary(FNHL-1-4A-8/08)

    Already decided...
    Thanks guys...
I had already decided to raise a stink about getting my results before Nov 2nd.I plan to call my cancer clinic after I leave the imaging center today and tell them that I want my doctor or his nurse to call me with the results just as soon as the radiologist sends it to them. I figure I might as well set the record straight with this "new" doctor of mine right from the get go. The sooner he see's that I'm not going to be a "wall flower" patient, the better. What the heck do I have to lose? I already "HAVE" cancer, so how much worse can a situation get? Really...think about it! So what if my doctor thinks I'm a pest or whatever?...as long as he's getting paid, he just needs to get the facts to me as soon as possible and then he won't have to deal with me. I'm done screwin around with these people. Fasting is not a good time to mess with a cancer patient...ha! I'll let you know any news when I find out.

    Go Sue Go!
You go girl. You are so right there is no need to wait until 11/2. Another way to go is to make an appointment to see the onc just for the results. Some doctors don't like giving this kind of result over the phone. I always try to get a copy of the report, read it over and than go see the doctor. I do best when I know results before hand. But it's getting harder and harder for me to get a copy, losing some of my hospital connections as people leave or retire. Dang.

Good luck with both the scan and the results. Will be sending good vibes.

    You go, Girl!
    Love it, Sue.

ABSOLUTELY, you should get your results ASAP!!

I know it helped us when we got our interim results - so I'm believing that's the way it will be for you, too!

    My prayers,

    Come on now
    Sue,
Stop feeling like you are walking the "Green Mile". Yes we have cancer, but from what I hear it is so treatable and if we have to have it then its the one to have. You and I and the rest of us are going to beat this thing. You sound like you are reading a death sentence here when you say "I got cancer so what do I have to lose". Now that I have scolded you like a red headed step child lets talk about the rest of this. You are absolutely right about beening tired of messing with these people. You really will have to speak up or they will walk all over you. It seems they are just there for a paycheck...not all of them ,but just enough of them to mess things up.Its not fair to all the people that that have to hurry up and wait all the time until they get around to telling us anything. We are the ones getting test, stuck with needles, being poisoned with chemicals, mri's, petscans, ct scans, etc, etc. Then they make us wait until they want to get off their butts to to tell us what they should be telling us within a few hours.
I am just trying to let you know that I know you are really down right now and your way of thinking about this disease right now is not a death sentence. I know that going thru all the chemo schedules is really draining and it will take a toll. Those up and down days are a real hassle to deal with sometimes. I have had days where I didn't think I could make it with all the tiredness and memory loss. It did get better with time especially since today was my next round scheduled if I would have another round. I didn't and the strenght building was not cut short like it was with the 3 week chemo schedule. It will be the same with you after you get thru all this every 3 week crap. "Preacher" John

    Bad girl...
Can I come out of my room now John? I promise to be a good girl..hahaha! Your right. My poopy attitude serves no useful purpose. It's just been a crumby 3rd round and I need to get over it. With that being said you'll be happy to hear that I stood up for myself today and requested a copy of my last CT Scan from June and also a copy of todays. They gave me the June scan and said they would mail me todays scan as soon as it's completed...(24 hrs max). I had to sign some papers to get the copies, and will have to sign papers each time I want copies in the future, but that ok...at least I'll have results sooner this way. There was a ton of information on my first CT scan that was never discussed with me, so I'm going to call the cancer clinic and set up an appointment to go over both scans with this new doctor of mine. I'll let you know when I get the results in the mail. I had forgotten how weird it feels when the dye gets injected during the scan...thought I had peed my pants when everything got so warm...ha!

    GOOD GIRL!!!
    SUE,
I GUESS YOU CAN COME OUT OF YOUR ROOM IF YOU PROMISE TO BE GOOD. Glad to hear you got some results with them today. This way you ,me and the rest of us do not have to worry about those results for 2 weeks. Oh yes, that warm injestion is really warm. Hopefully you will be able to tell us whats going on by tomorrow night. When we have to sit and wonder for any lenght of time too many what ifs come into play and before we know it we are thinking all kinds of weird stuff. There is no reason for that kind of thing, not with todays technology anyway. Now, go back to your room and think about that.hahahaha John

    GO for it Sue!
    Go for it Sue!!

In looking back from the past year, my diagnosis was much delayed because I was not assertive enough with doctors. YOU just have to be a pest with what you need for your own personal good!! Remember that powerful letter from a "patient" written for a doctor? Good luck. Anyway, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

    Hugs,
    Liz
