    Northeast, Georgia
Hey, I am Rhonda and I live in northeast, Georgia with my 4 children, 22,19, 15 and 13. My screen name comes from the fact I have two standard poodles. I was diagnosed grade 1, stage 2a, Feb 2010, had bilaterial mastectomy, 6 rounds chemo and will have implants (replacement) on Oct 13th. I have been married to my second husband ( the best in the world) 16 years. My oldest daughter will be celebrating her brain surgery date Dec. 2001 - she had began to have seizures in 1999 and she has not had a seizure since Dec 2001, and no problems from the brain surgery. I also love this site. Hopefully this weekend my husband is planning on helping me post my picture. You warriors look GREAT!

Hi! I'm Cathy Ruf(cruf). I've been here since Oct. 2000. I was Dx with DCIS Stage 0. I had a Mastectomy and Tram Flap Reconstruction on Sept. 11,2000. I woke up on Sept. 11,2001 planning to celebrate my 1 year Cancerversary and then the World Trade Center disaster happened! I do live in NY ,about 30 Miles North of NYC ,so 9/11 hit very close to home.I'm lucky that my cancer was an early stage so I've been ok! I must say that I'm more fearful every year that the cancer will show up again!I am very proud to know all of you brave ladies(and men) who are going thru this fight and you should all be proud of yourselves! I have 1 daughter who is turning 25 tomorrow and recently graduated Grad School with a degree in Interventional School Psychology. I am a Physical Therapist in a SubAcute facility and my husband of 28 years is in the Resturant business. HUGS!!!!

    hola!
    Hola,
My name is Chris and I live in Seattle with my husband of 10 years who has been my best friend for 20. We live with our cats, Chica and Rubio and our ever-lovin' golden, Chewy. I've finished my treatment and have almost finished my reconstruction. My name comes from many friends and collegues calling me "CJ". Being an ESL and Spanish teacher....Spanish for "CJ" is C=ce and J=jota. We travel, cook, entertain, and really love our international connections. I'm 52, was diagnosed Oct. 09, knowing that my grandma, aunt, mom and sister had also had breast cancer. I had only one choice....double mastectomy. It was "when, not "if". I have learned so much from this site....having had the experience before my dianosis was also helpful. Thanks, each and every one of you,for your continued support to us, all of us, and to the cure!
    Best to all,
    cj

Hi Evoling_Butterfly!...maybe our paths cross, what part of the city do you live? We're getting together in Boerne in October, hopefully, you can join us.

My screen name is SEA (my initials) but I also find the Sea and the crashing waves very comforting and peaceful.

Diagnosed at 45 in 2005. It will be 5 years going steady with NED (No Evidence of Disease)and I have NO intentions of breaking up.

I have 2 grown kids, Michael 27 and his wife Ambia and my precious ONLY grandson William whom gives me great joy!

My beautiful daughter Andrea who is attending school in Waco studying Anthropology.

Also blessed with wonderful family and friends.

I didn't know about this site during all my time in treatment. It would have been so helpful to me then. But I'm just grateful that I found it now. Every person here is a jewel.

Thanks for posting this. It's great to "meet" everyone. Plus I was wondering about "Giant Poodles" and just how big those dogs were.

    Peace & Love,

    Sylvia

    GREAT IDEA JO JO
I am new to these discussion boards so it is so nice to get to know everyone this way.

My screen name comes partly from my real name Rosemarie and the Posey part comes from what my siblings called me as a child. Rosey Posey. The 333 represents angels, someone told me that a long time ago so I figure the angels are watching over me. Just today I was talking to my sister, Maryanne, and she pointed out that I called her at exactly 3:33pm, we both believe in the angels especially since our mom's name is Angela and she passed away almost 2 years ago from Alzheimers.

I lived in Queens NY all my life until I moved in July to Rochester NY just after my diagnosis. I had surgery in Queens and radiation treatment in Rochester. Life has been full of changes this year, new house, new city, new breast cancer, retirement.

Didn't go back to work yet because I wanted to finish my radiation first so I could concentrate on my job fully. My husband is retired and doesn't intend to go back to work, he is 59 and I am 57 but my pension plan at my job in Queens is not allowing me to collect until I am 65.

I have 3 sons and 2 grandchildren, a boy and a girl. They live close to me now, that was the reason we moved to Rochester so we could be in their lives daily.

My most favorite thing to do is teach Shake Your Soul which is a movement/dance program that is just pure fun and JOY!!

Ok, that is part of my life, R

    names
What you see is what you get. I'm Marsha, I live in the far southwest corner of Indiana in Evansville - a Hoosier, born and raised.

I have 2 children, Zachary who is 23, and Rachel who is 20. My ex-husband and I were married for 11 years before Zach was born. We were divorced 2 years ago. Even with all of what's going on with me, I wouldn't change this fact. It was best for both of us and the kids too.

Diagnosed with Stage IV on 2/10/10 with mets to many nodes, liver, bones, and skin. (Full testing and diagnosis took about 8 days) No surgery due to the advanced stage being known so quickly. Yesterday was my 31st consecutive Friday of treatments. I've had 3 phases of treatments: Taxol, Herceptin, and Zometa for 10 weeks, just Herceptin and Zometa for 15 weeks, and currently on Taxotere, Herceptin, and Zometa - yesterday was my 6th week of this regimen.

I do enjoy reading about everyone on topics like this. Thanks JoJo. God bless us all, Marsha

    Another state to add
I am from Bend, Oregon. I'm sure not many know where that is. My screen name came from when I first came to this board and was thinking about the yellow lab we lost to cancer. Her name was lady and the g is my first inital, Georgia. I was dx on Mar. 23,2010. My husband of 45 years has been by my side through all of the dr. appointments and treatments.
I have a daughter who is my pride and joy. She lives in Vegas and travels alot for her job so I don't get to see her as much as I would like. My mother who is 85 lives with me as well and tried to do all she could to help me. I am 63 and soooo looking forward to retirement. If it wasn't for the Beast I probaly would be now but I need the medical insurance that I get on the job. Sorry if I am rambling I guess I just feel talkative tonight.

    Hugs

    We ALL love that Stef!
My real name is Joe. I live in Springfield, MO with my beloved Moopy, who celebrated this week her 22nd month out from diagnosis. We share our home with our three pups: Eefy Josephine (Blabrador Non-Retriever), Yongy Bongy Bo (Eskimutt Terrierist), and Anubis Presley (Wienerbeagle).

The Moopster is employed at a very large and profitable bank, which was unbelievably supportive as she fought her way through surgery, chemo, and radiation. I earn my living by talking in other people's sleep. I also admit to stealing many of Stef's jokes and passing them off as my own. Ask Stef for cooking suggestions at your own risk.

Even though this is the club nobody would ever want to join, it is also most caring and affirming group of individuals I have ever encountered - or even read about. Both Moopy and I plan to be here for a long, long, long time.
