Have that burned tongue feeling?

I never had "mouth sores" so to speak. I did for 1-2 weeks after each chemo have a burned tip of tongue feeling, like if you drank something really hot. It impared my taste and was actually painful when eating. I had been using bioten mouthwash, toothpaste & "Magic Mouthwash" prescribed by onc. Nothing worked for the burned tongue feeling.

After my last (yea!) chemo, I decided to try a que-tip of liquid Ambesol on the tip of my tongue. Wow! After a minute of that burning/numbing feeling, my tongue felt great! I can drink coffee and eat without pain.

I wish I had thought of it sooner.

Just FYI

Wow, this is a great tip for those who are still going thru chemo or will start... I wish I would have known it when I had the burned tongue & metal taste in my mouth. Thanks for sharing.
