I am having chemo type cramps and the Levsin is working but only for two hours. They started yesterday but are here today with a vengence. Anybody out there experience this during their recovery?

Other than that, everything is going great. I quit taking the pain killers so I could drive and am having no other issues.

Thanks for your help,

Catherine

    Cramps
That's great, but be careful! I got a hernia from moving around to fast, or moving things around as my husband says! I don't think I got cramps.

Hey Catherine - I hope your cramps are over soon. I wish I could help, but I didn't experience this. I just read over your "About Me" page again. You've been through so much. You said that you really wanted to be a "normal parent" this year. I can really relate.
You got off pain killers so that you could drive - that means drive your kids around right? Damn you are tough and inspiring. Keep it up.

    Hi Catherine,
I had my liver resection almost a year ago and shortly after surgery I had pain from my liver. It wasn't chemo related and not sure if what you are experiencing is the same thing but my pain was pretty intense. My doctors ran several test and concluded that the pain I was experiencing was due to fluid bluiding up from the piece of liver missing. They stated that wherever there is empty space your body naturally tries to fill the void. As the liver grows back to the original size the pain would subside. So, after almost a year from my surgery no more pain :) Hope this helps -Melissa

    Thank you
Thank y'all so much for answering. I have been a cry baby all week. My husband is gone (Army) and he was gone during my recovery last year too. Three teenagers is just hard sometimes and "single" and having liver surgery.............well, you know...we all have it hard like that sometimes.

I think the cramps are related to digestive problems. I'm handling them ok after I get over the fear that I have ascites.

I'll be back up to Duke next week, so I can ask then. It is better today.

    Thanks again,

    Catherine

    Hug, Hugs, and more Huigs!
Catherine that is a heavy load to carry by yourself. Service people usually have a circle of family/friends, do you have someone that can help you? Have you considered going to the base Chaplin and see if there is a group that can help you. There are many volunteers on bases, I would give it a try. Sending hugs your way, I know you need them!!
