In case you are wondering where I got the name I use of cobra666 it was sort of an accident. I was trying to use cobra 66 for the 1966 cobra car I have. It rejected it so I added another 6. Sounds a liitle sadonic I know. The little ones in the picture are my grandkids and of course my wife. The little girl is such a china doll. The boys are typical boys that are into everything hahahaha.

    Cool car!
Thanks for the explanation. Can't say that I had thought about it, but if I had, it would have been a question.
I'm one that was never in a hurry for grandkids. But now I think they are the greatest of God's creation!
That's what we are supposed to be, isn't it? Proud of our grandkids.

    Stay the course,
    Tom

    Nice
Beautiful family and also thanks for the explanation. I will admit that I did wonder but didn't really care as we're all battling the devil that brought us here in the first place. Mary

    COOL CARS
    Sue,
Believe it or not I have 2 Shelby Cobras. We bought one when we first moved to NC. The second one my oldest son and I built from the ground up. Hes the one that has the china doll little girl. She is not chinese but reminds me of one. She will be 1 in sept. The boys belong to my youngest son. They are 5 and 4.
My blood counts are not really that bad. Actually high for chemo, but for some reason I feel wore out. Maybe I am over doing it a little. Just don't want to stay in the house all the time. My hips have been giving me a fit for the past few days. I guess it is the neulasta shot doing its job. I still don't feel as bad as I did after the first round. That was terrible. Whats going on with the reschedule? You may have posted it but I just got on and this is the first one I have read. Maybe one day you can get to see those cars. Maybe one day everybody can get to see them. John

    Cool Name, Cool Car
and really sweet grandbabies. And they are the very best of ages. John, just remember there are other reasons to feel fatigued, not just from the blood counts. But not to worry just remember it's chemo related. The last 2 cycles I couldn't climb my stairs to get to the bedrooms, two story house. Blood counts were great. Onc said it's just my body is worn out from the chemo. Take care, Leslie

    Tired
I was like you the last 2 rounds. I barely walked from one end of the house to the other without stopping to rest, and my house is small. I had to REALLY want something to get up and walk to get it, I felt like I was 90 and stairs would have completely wiped me out.

I really didn't do much of anything but nap the last couple treatments. It was the pitts to be so tired, but other than tired, I FELT WONDERFUL. It was the first time in years I could remember feeling good. Never more tired, but wow what a difference.

It gets better, you are on the downhill slide my friends!

    Take care,
    Beth

    SO TIRED
Thanks for the response Beth. I hope I am on the down hill of something. I know there are others out there a lot worse off than me. I can not imagine what they are going thru. I feel like I am 120 years old. I don't feel sleepy, just wore out. John

    Hey
    Hey John...

Tomorrow I go to the onc group so I'm really looking forward to that hoping to get some more definitive answers and get this going. One question, did you have any nausea during treatment and if so what did they do for you. Thank you...Aaron

    nausea
    Aaron,
No I did not have any nausea. So many do though. They give you medicine just before you get your treatment and after each round to help prevent that from happening. Then again it works for some and some it doesn't. Write down what you want to ask the Drs. You will never be able to remember the questions you want to ask. When they start talking about the way they want to go your mind will go blank. Better yet, take someone with you that can become an extra set of ears for you. The info you get will be overwelming. Your mind will start to race on the way there and get worse while waiting to hear what they have to say. Keep us up on the news. We are here for you. Try to calm down is asking a lot. Believe I and the others on here know. John

    Lovely day
    Hi Aaron,
I seem to remember that you said you were heading up to Stanford. I just wanted to wish luck for your visit tomorrow. I hope all goes well. And the weather for Palo Alto should be beautiful. Not hot, just lovely. And if you have never been there before, try and stop by the fountains in front of the main hosp. They are lovely with a great family of local ducks. I always stop by either before a visit or after. It is a very calming place to gather your self. Really helps after a day spent with Drs. and tests.
    All good wishes for tomorrow.

    Good luck Aaron
    Hi Aaron,
Good luck tomorrow. John is right..take someone with you or take notes, there is just too much information to process and remember.
    Regarding nausea...
I picked up my prescriptions today...ONDANSETRON (8mg)one in the morning and one at night. Also,PROCHLORPERAZINE (10mg) to take for nausea during the day(1 every 4-6 hours as needed). I sure hope they do the trick on the nausea. I'll find out next Wednesday which will be my second day after treatment. I was told they give you nausea meds the day of treatment. It's the prednizone I'm not anxious to take....60 mg first thing in the morning will be a "trip" for me!!! Share what you find out tomorrow...good luck!

    Nausea
    Hi Sue,
Just a quick comment on your nausea meds. I have had great relief with the zofran(ondansetron). I have had it both i.v. and orally. Worked well for me. I also have tried the compazine, it really knocked me for a loop. I hope you don't have much need for the meds.
Go have some fun this weekend with your hubby. maybe a movie or just a fun date night.
    You are in my thoughts...

    Makes you sleepy...
    Hi lisha,
My pharmacist told me the nausea meds can make you tired and sleepy. I'm thinkin..."YES"...maybe they will balance out the crazy prednisone..ha! Every time I see that bottle of prednisone sitting in the cupboard I get like a vampire around garlic...(backing off hissing)...ha! Seriously...I REALLY hate that medicine. Hope I'm not a raving lunatic while on it. Fingers will be crossed! Thanks for the info...
    Love...Sue
P.S. (me and hubby have fun no matter where we're at...home...whatever)...takes effort and work to keep a marriage going for 32 years...we've mastered it! Love my man!

    Hi John,

How nice to see the picture of you and your grandkids. For some reason, I thought you were a lot younger. Maybe it was that scary name(hehe). I've never heard of a cobra car. Must be some sort of sports car. Really cute grandkids, and yes, the little girl is a doll.

    Hope you are doing well.

    Britta,
I am young if you want to compare me to Moses. I am 61. Yep,she is a real doll alright. I don't see her that often though. She lives in Maryland and I live in North Carolina. The 2 boys live in Pa. The plan was our 2 sons were going to move here with us when we moved here 9 years ago. It did not work that way after all. Now they got familys of their own. It is so much nicer here than in bulletmore,Uh I mean Baltimore. Well, don't want to get into that or I'd be here all night...hahahaha. The Cobra car was a sports car that was used for racing in the early 60's. They are classic cars now and highly sought after by collectors. They have a slight resemblence to the early corvette, but much better. Type in Shelby Cobra on your computer and I am sure a picture of one will come up. They never changed. John

    Hey John,

Finally remembered to take a look at the 1966 shelby cobra. Gorgeous car!! What color are yours and did you rebuild them yourself or buy them finished? My first husband rebuilt a 1934 Ford Deluxe Model A. It was ebony black with yellow spoke wheels. We live in Minnesota, so my car sat outside for years in the cold while his pride and joy stayed in the garage. It was worth the sacrifice though cause he enjoyed it so much.

Nice you live in a warm climate so you can drive your cobras all year round.
