New photo as you see....

Just a teaser for Finz, Greg, Hondo, ChefDaddy and whomever else happens to wind up down near Tampa sometime.

The weather has been extremely hot, but if you can catch the tide, weather and bait right, the bite is on.

Best to all of my CSN friends and buddies, and to doing what you like and love to do,
John

    Hey John,

Great fish. I've got a 24' Pontoon boat that has been calling my name for 2 months now it's just been too d&%* hot down here. But I will go soon.

    Best,
    Steve

    Select Shrimp
I always have a little dry Purina Fish Food (mixed with a little salt water, it makes great chum) and a cast net. But I also usually stop and get a few dozen select shrimp at the local bait shop.

They happened to be liking the large shrimp Saturday, so between dodging storms and sloppy water, shrimp it was.

This Red took a big fat select shrimp under a floating cork in about 4' of water right up next to the Mangroves....

This one was out of the slot here in Florida (18" - 27") so was released to breed some future catches. We did manage a few in the slot though, so I invited them home for dinner.

You need to get you some.

    Best,
    John

If you're too busy to go fishin, well, you're just too busy...
Yep, you are right, great therapy for me....at my worse, I would drag myself out for a little fishing. Shelley my wife and care giver right there with me.

Shelley was awesome. Once we went to a local lake to just crank the motor and run a few laps in the lake as I hadn't been out for a few weeks. Anyways, in my excitement, I hooked my boat rope to the trailer, but for got to hook it to the boat. When I backed the boat off of the trailer, there it was floating out into the lake.

With not hardly any stength, I said to Shelley, I can't swim out there...she looked at me like I was crazy, and muttered a few choice words for me. But she slipped her sneakers off, slid off of the dock and swam out. She hooked an arm over the side and swam the boat back the 15 yards or so that the wind had pushed it out from the ramp.

She was praying for no alligators the entire time (did I mention we live in Central Florida), with still a few more choice words for me as well.

I owed her Big Time for that incident for several weeks.

    Nice Red!!!
Nice one John. I am sitting here planning my Fall fishin' trips now. Just wish it would quit flooding here - messing up my favorite streams.

    Keep your line tight!

    Wow
    Nice fish John.

I know Glenn is thinking about fishing soon.

I think it would be exciting to catch a fish that size. I know I get excited with a relatively small Perch on the line.

    I'M JEALOUS
Up north were still waiting for the fall run to get started.Seeing that fish makes my pulse run faster. This is actually the first year I got all my tackle in order and ready to go ahead of time. All we need now is for the fish to cooperate. Tight lines to all. Chas.

    Heat Index
The Heat Index for Saturday when I was fishing....900 = 109*, 1300 = 119*, it's crazy. Bait was off by a month or more becasue of the long cold winter weather we had this yeat in Florida.
