    Bummer
This is just my experience, but there was blood in my stool for months and finally had flex scope done and it showed that my blood vessels were so close to my surface that when pushing the blood vessels would break open. Sometimes, and many reasons, blood in stool is not always from cancer, it can be caused by several things. Praying that all goes well which in my heart know it will.

    Beth,

I'm definitely praying for you. Hope it's nothing drastic at all! I know you're scared, so I hope you can get the answer ASAP.

    praying beth
it's nothing, I'm sure, and that's exactly what I'm praying for. Stay strong and try to not worry, although that's a hard request to make and a hard recommendation to follow. Bright red sounds like hemorrhoids to me too! Hope work is going well for you!'

    Beth my dear friend,

You bet I am praying for you. I hope that you can get through the next few days OK and not be too stressed. I know that is hard and if you do get stressed I pray you have some moments of peace. I know on some days I just pray for moments of relief and peace.

    Keep us posted.

    Dear Beth
I know exactly how you fill, but try to relax, I have been there not once but so many times during my 4 years journey, and allways have been clear of everything, scans, colononoscopies every year, this last time was more often and accompany by lot of constipation,so I ask my oncologist if he thought that I should do the colonoscopy as it was scheduled that was 3 months later, and he preferred to order one and not wait, well, again everything was clear, perfect picture of my colon, my problem is hemorroids, but even that I have been told that, EVERYTIME that that happens I get down, I don't want to see any blood at all coming from you know where. So as I told you I know how you are feeling, but I am sure is going to be nothing,I will be praying for all clear results.

OMGosh, what you went through was horrible, I am so glad you are doing better. Thank you for sharing your story. Other then that how are you doing? Havent heard from you in a while.

I have heard of stories where things viruses or infections can lay inside of you for years, and then just one day Bam it hits you. I am so glad they found out what it was. A lot of crazy things out there.

So good to hear from you...

    I'm doing fine
Up until that infection, I was doing fine. Now that I've healed, I'm building my stamina but otherwise fee wonderful. I don't really leave messages because there are so many on this board that are in such rough shape that I feel I shouldn't take up the space with messages about myself. I am very upset over Donna's condition. My sister in law died last July 4th from a brain tumor and she was in such pain. it was rough to watch. Sure hope Donna finds her miracle. She's such a positive force for everyone else. Life's certainly not fair, is it? How do you like San Antinio? Finally got rain here last night and by Casa Grande, there was a dust storm followed by hard rain. This ended up with a flash flood warning for those who live in the area. Thanks for asking. How are you and yours doing?

    can relate
    Hi Beth,

I can relate- I've had a lot of rectal bleeding lately too. I have a scan Aug. 30th. The CEA has been going down, but I am still suspecting something in the rectum. I was told back in Feb. that I had a recurrence in the rectum, but the May scan reported things as stable and didn't even mention the rectum. We shall see what this one shows. With the dropping CEA though, I am still hopeful. My GI dr told me around Christmas that everything looked ok there and the bleeding was likely from radiation damage, as the colonoscopy did show blood vessels on the inside surface and they did bleed when he touched them w/ the scope. He told me various factors can aggravate those blood vessels.
So, we'll see what this scan shows.

Just wanted to share what my GI dr. had said, in case that could be your situation.
    Best wishes, my dear-

I got a call today from the GI doctor, my colonoscopy is scheduled for the 27th, so have to wait another week to find out what is going on. I am pretty sure its roids, but it could be anything I guess, but praying for roids..LOL

Good luck on your scan, please keep us posted. Hope you had a great vacation.

@Beth: good luck..hope it is roids...and no, everyone knows cancer is a big monster...no one thinks you are crazy..not even those who have never on this board, or had to deal with cancer of theirs, or their relatives...don't think that. Fingers (and toes) crossed for you, Beth! :)

I never had any blood with
I never had any blood with my cancer. 3 days before my colonoscopy that identified I was almost obstructed, they tested my stool and it was clear. The doctor even like said, "well that's a relief! no blood!"
