    Welcome
Hello Renatka and welcome to our discussion board. I was a caregiver for my dad. He passed away in March from ec with mets to the liver. My suggestion is to run and find another dr. to give you a second opinion! Where do you live? You need to get to a well known cancer center, one that specializes in liver cancer would be ideal. I live in Virginia and took my dad to UVA. We were very pleased. When one dr gives up, another one might give you another chance! Best of luck. Keep in touch.

    Ask your Dr. about
Ask your Dr. about Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE) for the lesions on the liver.

See if you qualify to go to
See if you qualify to go to Northwestern, they're suppose to have a good liver program.

Have you ever contacted your local American Cancer Society? They have all kinds of resources for help.

Yeah I know it's also for
Yeah I know it's also for high blood pressure which I don't have...he's an oncologist with specialization in HCC so I'm taking a half tab once a day to see what happens. I had my 3 months scans and no tumors in my liver!! But I still have a lot of mets; lungs, adrenal gland an now they found some on my abdomen wall. He wrote a script for Nexavar so now need to do some research on that...

    Thats pretty awesome no
Thats pretty awesome no tumors on your liver! Damn those mets! Have they given you a prognosis or are they happy with your response to treatment? My dad will be returning from syria 9/21 and we will be transfering his care to dana farber cancer institute in Boston, Ma. I believe they we will be placing him on a clinical trial that contains both nexevar and tarceva. My wedding is comming soon and I also just found I am pregnant. I dont know if this is good or bad I feel like there is too much going on to handle this as well. How come they didnt put you on nexevar before to preven further mets?

    stage4liver Thanks
I want to thank you for giving me an advice about Northwestern.I spoke with them and looks like I was misdiagnosed instead of HCC i have a Chilangiocarcinoma. As soon as they put a portacath I will start chemo. After my liver resection I was taking Nexavar for almost two years. Now I have a few nodules in liver and lungs.Good luck, let me know how nexavar work for you.
