I know it is a little early, but, I assumed everyone already knew what their plans were for

the 4th of July. So, whatcha doing? Fireworks, parades, barbecuing, working, resting,

eating homemade ice cream. OH YUM!! LOL

Inquiring minds want to know!

I don't know yet. A lot of the time it depends on if my husband has to work. He works for himself so you got to work when the work comes in for you could be doing nothing the next week. Sometimes he works 12 hour days 7 days a week and other times nothing for a week.

    Hi Susie
If it was up to me and the way my mood is right now, I would say nothing! But I do have 2 daughters, and I know it wouldn't be fair to them, so maybe I will go to a BBQ a family member is throwing and go see the Fireworks.

    Well...
It's gonna be one of those rare occasions when I get all my boys (they're really young men now) together in the same place at the same time. Plus now there's grandkids. So a big BBQ and afterwards, sit in the backyard and watch fireworks.

Honestly, it takes so little to please me -- just put everybody I love together in one place and I'm happy.

    Happy Fourth,
    Victoria

    Visit Mom
My son left yesterday for a semester in Australia. Daughter leaves Tues. for a week in NYC. I get implants next Wed. SO, I'll sneak in a visit with Mom for the weekend. Hubby will be happy to putter in his gardens in peace.

Smarty-pants son: "Do they have 4th of July in Australia?" Me: "Hmm, I don't think so, since it's a USA holiday." Son: "What, you think they jump from July 3rd right to July 5th?"

Um, Marcia, what exactly are you holding? I've been noticing people's photos lately and some are perplexing.

    no
I'm not holding anything. I'm standing behind a rock (I think) that I thought looked like a woman's torso. I thought it would be amusing. Or it could be a heart? Or someone said it looked like one end of a dog bone.

    quiet celebration of the 4th
Hubby has to work on Sunday and Monday although I am off from work on both days. He will be home for the fireworks display although we may watch the Macy's sponsered fireworks on TV after watching the DVD of the musical 1776 (our ritual since the year our son was born-1976). I have two new novels that I am anxious to read; one of my old friends will be dropping in on Monday for a visit. I will be savoring my long weekend off.Wishing everyone a happy and safe 4th of July.

    Happy 4th to All!
I live in Phoenix. Do I have to tell anyone---it's HOT here! So, we'll party in the pool. My son, daughter-in-law, dogs, hubby will be with me. We'll swim, lounge, cook out, pop a beer or two and enjoy each other. Sometimes the kids go to the fireworks--hubby and I do not--too, too hot for me! Sometimes, we'll drive our car to a place where they'll be, sit in the car with the AC running and watch!

    Staying Home
We will be home trying to survive the dog's trauma of fireworks. Hypervent's, moves into the shower, where I close the door. He seems to think the shower is his safe place. Also still pondering what the 4th really stands for and hope we as American's can sustain what our founding father's had in mind. Enjoy, stay safe.

Going to a friends for a cookout! I just have to figure out what I am going to take.

    Hmmmmm..ideas?

We will all go the fireworks later and snuggle up to stay warm and keep the bugs off of us. My husband thinks I am afraid of them, simply because I always kind of jump when those big loud ones go off. Perhaps I am. Or, maybe I just want a big old hug from him. LOL

    Have a good one Susie!

    small town usa
booked a hotel for weekend getaway, chose a small town that is having old fashioned 4th celebrations in their town square......antique car show, vendors, crafts booths, live music with local bands, followed by firework display. This is my week #3 before facing chemo #5 after weekend...so I am feeling pretty good now and can do this. And...I think my husband deserves to get away for the weekend.

    Pig Roast
Planning on attending friends large (100 people plus) 4th of July Pig Roast. Something I don't always look forward to but this year I'm really anxious to attend - her mother is a breast cancer survivor (mastecomy 2 yrs. ago), another friend of the hosts is a BC (reconstructive surgery last year), I'm 2 months after mastectomy. The amazing thing - all
3 of us had surgery in same hospital, same surgeon and even chose the same Oncologist.
This will be my first "large outing" and I'm excited to connect in person with other BC survivors.
Happy 4th of July to all!

Yep, that's what I'm doing. My hysterectomy is in about 5 hours. Then I can get on with fighting these beasts! Hopeful that hysterctomy will be all that's needed for the endometrial cancer. I will start chemotherapy for the breast cancer in a few weeks. Onward.
