Hi Craig! I would be very interested in getting a copy. If you find that you can't get one to all of us, just let me know if i can order a copy of it myself somehow.
I'm very curious about the DaVinci espcially since i never hear mention of it in the cancer centers around here. it must still be very experimental.
Congratulations on getting the word out again about our plight! I personally know you inspire!

Update 6-25-10)
Today is photo shoot day at the hospital for the DaVinci article with me and Dr. D.
The Foundation President just contacted me and told me that we might be on the COVER of the magazine - what????
It's leaning that way, but I won't get my hopes too high:)
That would really be something - I've got more "home pics" I have to take this w/end to go with the ones I've sent in and the ones they are taking. It should look really nice as they do a nice job.
Just thought I'd let you know - kind of cool. And I proofed the article to be released and asked them if they would add SEMI;COLONS as the support group that I am with. So, we may make it in print again as well.

I was really happy when a member sent me a PM asking questions. I answered them and then started a post about Colon cancer. Got good response from it, so I feel really good about it. I have you to thank for making me think about what could I do to help get the word out.
It was a really small step that worked. I don't want to be a in your face zealot type. My feelings when people are that way, is, okay what are you selling or what's your agenda. I like the soft sell, get them to come to you. But everybody is different. On a side note let me know when you want to get the ball rolling on what we talked about in the PM.

Photo shoots are alot of work - I asked the photographer if he was any good with Photoshop, LOL:) I told him to take pics of my good side, but we could not find one:)
I'll have the last of the home pics taken this week and sent over for their selections. I had a shot at the Cover of the magazine - but it looks like I'm in competition with FRANKIE VALLI - so you can guess who's going on the cover - I'll probably draw the short straw, but hey he's a legend and I'm just one in "my own mind" LOL:)
Article and pictures will be going to publication for their process and the magazine will probably be available toward the end of July or August 2010. I should be sitting up by then and can start to work on this, getting the copies out to those who have requested one.
We look like we have a rough count of about 30 so far - these are a limited series of copies that go out to the Foundation members and the cardiovascular and thoracic community, so she said we could order additional copies - I can just let her know how many extra to add on to her original order.
So, it looks like we better find out right now if there are any more takers, so I can give her some advanced warning about how many to order.
30 and counting...
So anyone who wants one, please let me know, so I can finalize the count and go ahead and get them ordered in advance.
Don has graciously offered to help me get copies to folks who are cash strapped - I'm not the one who offers to give you something and then charges for it - I had planned to handle it and then Don offered his help and it was so generous of him to do so - he and I will be able to make this happen for you, if you want to have one.
So, all is going well so far and as planned - article has been written and approved - pics taken with Dr. D today - some personal pics offered and the rest this w/end - then we wait for the publication to come out towards Summer's end - I'll begin working on them after that and asking for addresses, so shipping can begin.
Good ol' Dr. D - was good to see him today - we get along so well - he says I'm still "thick." I told him to use one of the long DaVinci blades to cut me up, LOL:)
He's gonna' hurt me real bad, but I still love him - there is a sense of comfort that he does care about me and we've developed a nice bond - we almost went to lunch today, but he had a meeting and I had to get back to work - took a rain check.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how the layout all comes together - and who knows, maybe I'll beat ol' Frankie Valli to the cover after all - we know not to bet against me, right?
