How long should you let the site of surgery heal before getting radiation on it. Does anyone have any experience in this? Should you do it right away or let it heal? Not sure if you wait a few months if the cancer will come back in that spot sooner.

    Radiation
I found out that I had low grade B-cell lymphoma around April (stage 1)did surgery and I just started radiation. I choose radiation becuase I am 37 years old.
I went to see two docs and the first
one told me to do R-Chop. The second told me we need to do radiation first? If the radiation takes care of the cancer with no toxins that would be a win. But if it does not
then we still have all the cards on the table. I like to know everything that happens to my body.
And if it does not work then my next step is rituximab and bendamustine.
I will try to avoid chemo as the last resort..

stell27 that would be up to the doctor.

Wow, you are so young. I am
Wow, you are so young. I am surprised that the other dr. wanted to start with chemo. I had two opinions so far and both said to just do radiation at this time. I have a third coming up next week and I hope the consensus is the same, I dont want to have to rethink anything.

How is the radiation coming along so far. I will start on Wed.

The time frame is in and
The time frame is in and out, about 15 minutes. The actual time doing radiation is 3 minutes.
There is no pain so far I am in my 4th time out of 20. They tell me I might lack of energy
the last week. But it should go away. This is the best way to start. If it doesnt work than I
will put toxins in my body (Chemo).
