    Meds
The depression is hard. Effexor works for some,it is difficult, but not impossible to wean off. Are you working with any counselors as part of your team? A long time ago, I was the RN on the respiratory floor and we had a lot of patients with trachs. I know from the nursing side (let alone the patient side) how difficult a trach can be and I feel for you.
Is there a trach support group in your area?
Hopefully others will have more ideas than me, just wanted to send you a note!

    Dennis, I've suffered with
Dennis, I've suffered with depression for most of my life and there are many medications out there. If the citroplam is not working, tell you doctor and have him/her change it. It may take several different meds before you find the one that is right for you. I've been on many as I become ammuned to them over time. I've been on the citroplam myself but it has been too long for me to remember how it worked. Give your doc time to find the one that works for you befor you give up. It may even require more than one pill. I currently take 3 different pills for my depression. There is a med that can help you with depression, so DON'T give up. I wish you the best and will be praying for you. I've never had a tracke so can only imagine the horrible experience you are having with that. Just please try to hang in there and know that eventually it will all be better. Good luck, Dennis.
