Gosh it's nice to be in a doctor's office and be normal and have normal results....I felt soooo NORMAL. Not that feeling when you sneak out knowing everybody is looking at you and thinking cancer!!!!
have a wonderful long weekend all my American friends. We had ours last weekend on May 24...it was great weather....sometimes it snows...May 24 is an old celebration of Queen Victoria but now the kids call it May 24 and it just means 24 beers and going out to the beach for the first time.

oh and by the way just so I didn't feel too normal today I had to go the the hospital to do CEA's.....keeps you honest...hahaha

YEY for normal!
Gotta love those GPs, they keep you honest! When I was heavier, before the procedure last year, the only doc that would dare even mention that I might want to consider doing something about it was my GP! And even then, all he did was do a cholesterol/triglycerides check! Of course, it was a good thing I had all that extra weight, it turned out, but sometimes we need the GPs to keep us real! And I love your comment about sneaking out knowing everybody was looking at you thinking cancer! In some ways the oncologists office is easy, since everybody there is either a cancer survivor or a loved one of a cancer survivor; although some are just blood born disease (did I say just? eeek!). With my looking so good, a lot of people assume i'm a loved one instead of a cancer survivor!
But at the GPs office, nobody knows my history so I'm just another poor slob in there for whatever mundane thing might have brought us to the waiting room! Of course, that always leaves me open to having to listen to somebody blather on about how tough they have it with this cough they've been suffering through for 2 weeks!

I always feel welcome when I travel in the US. It seems people are friendly are very helpful. Canadians are more shy and stay to themselves I think.

oh what you say is so true Mary. I find in oncology there are few things that are held back....everybody is ready to share and no one bats an eye. I remember when I was in treatment I would walk down the street and think.....why am I so different...everyone is going on with their life?
There a few people at my GP's office who know my history either...sometimes if a great bore gets talking I will pull the cancer card!!! Just say well actually I am a cancer patient.....blah blah blah....usually curbs the endless cough discussion....hahah
sometimes in our chemo room there are patients who need transfusing for whatever reason.....you can usually tell by the colour of their bag of stuff that it is blood...can't always assume they are on chemo....

Normal is nice! Have a great weekend! I had always found the people of Canada most welcoming and helpful when I crossed the border. Canada makes me miss traveling - even for work. Once I did have a bad trip to Canada when a VP from my company booked me to St. John's when St. John was my destination, but I can hardly blame the fine people of Canada for that mess.0 -

hahah I am so normal at the moment....the next thing I know my GP will be calling for a pap smear. Well in fact I have mammo booked for Monday and I cracked a front tooth....so off to the dentist.....booohooooo just normal I gues

I don't know but I'll be that happens all the time. It is confusing....funny how much difference one little apostrophe can make. I think Canadians are confused by that one too ...at least both cities are in the general direction of east.....could be worse....one could be in British Columbia....:)

YAY! for the Normal visit!
My mom and brother are from St. John, NB. I love the stone beaches! My brother's sister is a sea captain and we went to visit her at PEI one year. It was Canada Day and boy was it cold for that time of year! The fog from the ocean felt like ice balls hovering all around you. It was too cold to enjoy a beer. It must have been unseasonably cool. Last July was even cooler than average here in Ohio. I prefer the warm weather.
By the way everyone was friendly!
