First NED report

Got the results on Friday of my first post treatment scans. Bone scan was clean. CT scan showed cysts on some abdominal lymph nodes, but the mass was not dense; otherwise, a clean report. PAP smear came back negative. Next ONC/GYN visit in July. Now I'm educating family and friends of the meaning of NED!
Got the sewing machine out and started work on new tropical pattern pillows for my porch furniture and new curtains for my spare/get-away room in a beautiful summery flower print. Next begin work on summer dresses for my two granddaughters.
As we all do, continue the adventure with my digestive system--the noise from my insides has vastly increased since this whole process began. Sometimes it sounds like the rumblings of a small volcano. You just have to laugh.
Now approaching my one year anniversary of this new phase of my life.

(BTW-my hysterectomy was June 2009 (on my 60th birthday of all days!) diag. Stage II; follow-up lymph surgery found 2 of 12 nodes positive, diag. Stage III-C; carbo chemo in Sep-Oct; then 28 rounds of IMRT completed in Dec.)

    Hurray!!!
I am so glad for your NED report!! My diagnosis is also IIIC and I finished up my treatments in Feb.

The pillows and curtains sound wonderful. And the granddaughters, I am sure will love the dresses. There is something extra special about a dress Grandma made.

Read your bio...and you are right. Never give up, never give in...keep fighting....{{{big hug}}}} Norma

    Yippee!
I'm very happy for you and know you're on top of the world.

I too had hysterectomy Feb '09, 6 rounds of chemo (taxol/cisplatin) 33 sessions pelvic radiation. Today no reoccurance and feeling quite well. NED....

The sewing sounds wonderful and glad you can enjoy the grandkids as well. Time to get on with life as best you can, as it's always challenging.

Hang in there and keep smiling!

Such wonderful news for you and all of us survivors of uterine cancer. It warms my heart to hear that you are going to be sewing again...its like the sun is coming out again after a long journey through fighting cancer. I am sooooo happy for you!
