    Not That
Sorry about strep throat. I was battling a sore throat, congestion, and fever but it never became anything bad. Take care of yourself.

Well I just had a wierd one. Went to the dentist for the first time in a year and he said one of my teeth is trying to reabsorb itself...some kind of auto immune syndrome..it's disentigrating from the inside! Anyone else ever had this? I cant help but think it has to be related to the cancer somehow....

    Strane things going on ...
Wow! Strange things going on, huh?

Lizzie, if you were out in public, and happened to touch something someone with strep throat had touched, and then touched your nose or mouth - well, there ya' go. Actually I am not sure if Strep is airbourne or not, but touch contamination is something we need to take care for when in chemo. When I was going through A/C my white counts were almost invisible. I did not leave home, and if anyone came to see me, there were no real hugs. Just stand six feet away and pretend you are hugging. Sometimes I would even stay a room away, and just tell epople that I had no way to fight off any bugs and they understood, and we would joke about it. But it is really no joke. When you are going through chemo, your ability to fight off bugs is seometimes severely compromised. All you can do now is take really good care of yourself, and enlist any others you might have available. Hopefully your onc prescribed some antibiotics and you will get back on your feet. You head might feel light, but just keep the feet secure so you don't tip over. Seriously Lizzie, you have to kind of quarantine youself to stay healthy.

Dyanadeb, you are having jaw problems? Did you ever have radiation to that area? I have a brother who had throat cancer, and was heavily radiated. A year later, he had a tooth that was bothering. He went to an oral surgeon and they ended up pulling three teeth. His jaw bone aas so compromised that it fractured. Radiation can compromise bone cells in the area it is given. X-rays show that he had a fracture in his jaw. I can't think it would have happened that way if he didn't have radiation to that area. When we have radiation we think it is only affecting the skin cells, but it affects alot more. Of you had radiation, maybe you shoud consult your rad oncologist. or at least make sure your dentist knows you have been through radiation treatment so they proceed accordingly.

Okay Women, (I was told that addressing females as ladies was compromising ... can you guess why?) I hope everyone is progressing positively, and will keep in touch with what's a
happening. Just remember, Jesus will carry you. Carried me for miles and never complained. WOW! Who would have ever thought?! ... A God who carries the peasants?!! Phew! I am always amazed at that! Stay well and stay blessed!

I got "gangrene" in a tooth
I got "gangrene" in a tooth after treatment-had root canal--it's still sore but I am not doing
anything about it unless it gets worse. Dentist was surprised.
