I can see that you are new to the board. If you read what I have written in this forum over the past 5+ years you will find that none of it is even remotely true. Please do not twist the truth to bolster your apparent "beef" with me. I think faith is a great thing and I have no hatred for anyones faith or belief. I actually think that there may be more than one God that people can believe in. I did make a reference about how most wars fought over time had to do with conflicting beliefs and that millions of people have been killed in God's name. You mean history is wrong? I'm sorry that facts bother you. I hope (and pray) you get over your obsession with me and this topic.
May the force be with you...

    Your Statement
I truly believe that religion was a man-made creation in order to control people and to prey on them and not pray for them. God was created in man's image and aside from keeping the masses under control, it was an easy way to explain the unexplainable. That is until science came along and disproved many of the churches teachings or how they saw the world.

Your quote, there are many offensive others that do not belong on the spirituality thread, it's not spiritual, encouraging or uplifting to any of us. You seem to enjoy causing strife, discord and drama while ranting at us who pray for each other on any other thread.

    My Point Exactly
You expressed my feelings perfectly. There are a few who seemed so disposed to make people of faith miserable. They mouth tolerance whic actively "slamming" God, faith and spirituality at every opporetunity. I'll play along and stick to this board, just wish they would avoid us.

    Amen
    Amen to this.
and i am also surprised how these people are not scared of anything. even if they don't believe i would think that they would be scared to talk this way just in case somebody above is listening and can take offense with them already having this disease. just wondering....

I know who saved my life and I thank him every day and every night if some one ask me to pray for them I will and if that offends some one who don't believe than you don't need to worry about prayer cause you don't believe in prayer...The freedom of our country gives the freedom of speech and a prayer is just that. If I ask you (non beliver )for your E-mail address or phone number would you create a thread for that as well. What I am saying is it don't matter if someone ask for prayer we are here for comfort and support if prayer is apart of that than we are doing what we are here to do.

It wasn't, and it still isn't. People misread and manage to "take sides",
    perpetuating a non-argument.

A long tome ago, a man tried to teach everyone he met, that
there is only one God. It was the same God, regardless if you were
Jewish, or Islamic, Hindu, Japanese or anything between ....
it was the same God for all.

He tried to teach that it was a loving God, not one held hatred,
and not one that would hurt you for anything you did.

The Man said that the God was an all forgiving God.

He asked not to be prayed to, because he was only teaching.

    And he said to beware of those calling themselves in his name;
And to beware of those that try to use God as a tool to get their way.

And exactly what have we ended up with, after that man's sacrifice?

Does it look anything like what he was trying so hard to teach?

There has been too much misinterpretation of what's been typed to
this forum, creating a rift; a great divide between individuals.

It's beyond time to stop and to re-read the initial statements made
on this forum, without reading -into- the statements.

It's easy to see hatred when you look for hatred; you find peace
and caring, when you stop to see it actually exists.

We are all here for the same reasons; we all care about one another.

    suggestion
If you like to pray. Pray.
If you dont believe in prayer, then dont pray.
If someone asks you to pray for them and you believe in prayer and feel like praying. Pray.
If someone asks you to pray for them and you dont believe in prayer. Dont pray.
If you dont want to pray then dont pray.

Be careful that you misrepresent..........you said this "Does it look anything like what he was trying so hard to teach?"

Yes it does IF you are referring to Jesus.........I'll say that what Mother Teresa did looks JUST like him, what my missionary friends are doing in the jungles of ecuador looks JUST likw him, what my church is doing here in our community to feed the poor, help the now homeless and jobless looks JUST like him, what Glide Memorial Church is doing for the gay community and those that are dying of aids in San francisco looks JUST like him, what Hiede and Roland Baker is doing in Mozambique feeding hundreds of orphans homeless because of civil war looks JUST like him.......I could write pages but I'm tired of typing.

One the other side of the coin is....
    the carnage of war
the nations that rule by religious doctrine
    the prejudice against ethnic groups
    the prejudice against gays
    the prejudice against atheists
the prejudice of those of one religion vs another religion.

    That list goes on also.

But we (you and I) are in total agreement:

There is an awful lot of good in this world, when we stop to see it,
just as there is an awful lot of good people right here, when we stop
to read the words in the context they are typed.

My life might be a lot shorter than I'd like it to be, and I hate to
waste a minute of it arguing with anyone. I have a feeling we all
feel the same way here; me, you, and everyone else.

It doesn't matter what our beliefs are, if any at all, it's the way
    we treat others, that's important.

Airing a beef needn't wreck havoc on the entire farm....

    We're all in this together!

    Stay healthy!
