Oh I'm going to be hurting tomorrow!

I love them both. First, my Walk the Walk DVD is actually 3 DVD's to a set. I began 'Miracle Mile' and find the music fun and like how it slowly increases the beat then decreases for a slow down. Loads of fun. There's also a 2 mile walk and a weight loss walk. The 2 mile walk will come much later. That's obvious.

My Walk it Out arrived today and I've never used the Wii so had to figure out how to choose my character, etc. That starts at a fast pace and since I'm using the remote and nunchuk, I really have to pump my arms or lift my legs high and fast. I did that for over 20 mints and am dead tired! There's no cool down. The music was fun. My first song was from Black Eyed Peas. In 20 minutes, it said I took about 2,000 steps and walked half a mile. Quite a fast pace! When I shut it down, it said I could change the settings if it's too hard. I may look at that tonight. Guys would like it, too. There's a guy fitness trainer or gal. I chose the gal. Nothing girlish or sissy about it.

Anyhow, they're both loads of fun and I didn't even think about the fact I'm doing it alone. Wal-Mart has the Leslie Sanson DVD's with their exercise equipment but you can also get it off Amazon. I got the Walk it Out off Amazon. Free shipping.

UPDATED: Did another 20 minutes tonight. Can't figure out how to see a total for the day. Looks like the Walk it Out game only saves info from each separate work out.

Day 2: Did one full hour! Fun!!

Diane

    question...
do you need the mat that goes with Wii to do it? They got me a Wii for Christmas, but so far the only game I have is Super Mario (and I still stink at it). I was going to get the fit program, but yours sounds better...especially here in Minnesota!

    Hey Sherrie, nope! You hold
Hey Sherrie, nope! You hold the nunchuk in one hand or strap it to your thigh and hold the remote in the other. I'm using two hands and pumping my arms. My arm muscles are pretty sore just from pumping my arms up and down.

I'm already doing an hour at a time! I've earned park benches, potted plants, trees, lamp posts but no houses or cars yet. I've also unlocked more songs and found I can set it on 'Sweet music for sweet people' and it's a little slower.

It's very cute and loads of fun. For every 10 - 100 steps, you can unlock something and once you've done a certain amount, you open more areas.

I think you'd like it and more than one can play at a time!

    Wanting this Game
I loved the original bowling game but then found out about the cancer and then the surgery, and then - well it's been awhile since I've been exercising, but this is a game that sounds so fun. Think you need the Wii fit board to do the Walk it Out but let me know how you like it the more you use it. Glad you are enjoying it and hoping to be right behind you with getting that exercising in. Looking for the one that has the walking in the park and beaches and pretty places you could walk. Do you have that one? Thanks for keeping us informed and enjoy :) Put some icy pack on you tomorrow LOL.

    That's the one
Kim, Walk It Out doesn't need the board or floor pad tho you CAN use those. In fact, a kid who would run to the fastest music would probably want to use the dance pad. I have to use my arms since I'm using the hand devices. Old lady flab go away! :o)

Yep, Walk it Out is the pretty benches, rainbows, etc. but you have to EARN them. LOL I pre-ordered it for $27. but it's only $28.99 with free shipping off Amazon.

I've figured out that if I go to the calendar in settings, it shows my total for each day and encourages me to beat yesterday. I got to choose my 'trainer' and gave my little gal white hair. :o) I'll be just about ready to stop and the trainer will remind me that there's one more rainbow sphere or I only need so many steps to do something.... and then 20 minutes later.... I really like it and look forward to 'playing'. My upper arms hurt from pumping them and I can really feel it in my thighs!

Remember, I'm 59 and haven't worked out in 15 years! I'm not but a few pounds overweight, so I'm guessing that helps some.

Thank you Diane: That is the one that sounds so fun. Still want to get the Wii fit but this sounds more interesting than that. You sound like you are so dedicated to getting into shape and that is wonderful - something we all should do. I've been trying and looking forward to getting into this. If you hadn't posted the earlier post (with the link to Amazon for the Walk it Out), I'm sure that would have passed me by so thank you for all the posts on Wii. I'm just now getting back into it and the treadmill. And you are a young 59 by the way :)
