Hey everyone,
I got a Phone call on Friday Evening Telling me to report at the hospital on Thursday 14th to have a Chemoembolization done.
This will be the fourth one that I had since July 2009. It has worked in the pasted I just pray that it's soon over. Every time they clean some mets up more just keep popping up at other spots this is in my Liver.
I know I haven't been on line much but after my PET scan reading December 28th, I was just depressed and just wasn't in to it.
I did keep everyone in my prays and I know that you would do the same All I ask now is all the best on Thursday [Thanks for letting me vent] Hugs and best wishes to everyone !!

Mike

    Hey Mike!
I was just thinking about you the other day, and was going to write! please don't lose hope, keep on with that smile, and it seems like me, you just have to roll with the punches, don't let this cancer take you over, you never know, the outcome may be better this time, but I don't think I read anywhere on what happened to your last scan?? what happened? I get my scan on the 14th, dreading it, but I'll know in a couple weeks if mine has spread or even gotten bigger. There been such awful news lately around here, that I am needing to hear some good news for a change :(

    Hugsss!

stay strong and know that God has your back
Try to stay strong knowing this treatment may be the one that puts you in NED! Just take one day at a time and don't worry about tomorrow. Enjoy each day God gives us and let Him do the worrying.

    thanks for the understanding
Hey Everyone thanks for the thoughts and prays!!!

Donna on December 18th I think it was the 18th it was the Monday before Christmas I had a PET scan and then got the reading on the Monday after Christmas telling me that they found more mets in the Liver
When this all started I was on chemo for 3 years and in this past year they worked just on the Liver to get it under control I started with 7 and they got that under control but every time they get it straighten out more come back it just never ends
I do have cancer in the lungs but for what I understand It's not spreading and it's not getting any bigger at this time if they could just get the Liver under control I would be happy
you know I'm going on about this and I just should be happy that they are keeping up with it
when there is some that is going throw more then myself I'm just sick of hearing that they got some and then on the other hand there more popping up anyway I should be glad that I'm down to one in the Liver and in 3 mouths or so whenever they give me a scan there be one or so more popping up I know I shouldn't be like that

    Awww....
So sorry to hear about that Mike, have they tried Avastin with you? trying to starve these tumors with your regular chemo, or does it not work with you? I have multiple liver mets as well, and who knows, the chemo may one day finally take it all, or it wont, it's ok to be worried, we all get worried, but then again, I can only worry for so long before I finally take the reins and get back in the saddle again and get myself together, I'm glad your doctor is keeping up with it though, that's a good thing :) You'll be in my prayers, hun, just take it one day at a time :)

    Hugsss!

    Chemoembolization
Just saw your post. They are giving you chemoembolization even though you have lung mets? If you have the time can you explain in plain English exactly what chemoembolization is and what you go through when you have it? It would be greatly appreciated. I know you will do fine on the 14th, that is my daughter's birthday so that day will finally bring you good luck. Sincerely Tina

    What is Chemoembolization ?
    What is Chemoembolization ?

Chemoembolization is a chemo therapy that they put chemo directly to the liver. How it's done is they go up your groin in the main artery the same as they do for the heart stent but they would go in to the Liver instead. After you are done you have to lay for six hours strait on your back. They tell me that it's do to bleeding this is why they keep you for a day and to see if everything is going alright. But I will tell you this every time I had this done a round midnight or 1:00 am I would get sick but now that's me I know of others and they are fine an then you go home the next morning.

There was one time they keep me one extra night do to pain but every time is deferent. This is chemo and like everyone chemo it works deferent on others. Myself I do get run down and it lasted for a week or two. I hope this help you to understand it better.
