question??

My husband has been doing chemo for colon cancer since sept. he has been complaining the last month of his lungs hurting so 2 wks ago on his half way mark they did a chest xray and found a 2+cm mass in his left lung. He is set to have a CT on tuesday. The last 2 days he is in alot of pain in his lungs and cant even take a deep breath. Is this normal or can a mass grow really fast? Also what is the CT for if they know its already there? His liver enzeyms were also elevated. I am just worried that he is having such bad pain and it seems like it came on fast. Thanks everyone for always being here for me:)

    When I was dx and they found the tumor yhey did the ct to see how far the tumor had spread.I guess they want to double check everything to know just what is going on.I'll be praying for him.

    Hang tough, I am finally beginning to expect the unexpected in this difficult journey. At some point, I gotta believe that our unexpected will be something positive!

    The doc probably wants the CT scan so he knows excactly what is going on. It is good they are staying on to of his complaints. I won't tell you not to worry, that is impossible to do (at least it is for me). Please come back and tell us what they found out. As you know, there are lots of options out there and many on the board have been through it all and will advise you of their experience. Thinking of you during these tough next couple of days - Tina

    My prayers are with you all. Xray can only show straight on from whichever angle it is taken. CT can show thickness, size and definition of the tumor.

    He Mel- thinking about you
    He Mel- thinking about you this morning. Yesterday was my husbands ct scan and I am a bit of a head case during all the waiting! My husband and I go today for a cathogram and then the appt. with the Dr. to find out scan results, and then a treatment. It is going to be a long day! I played armchair radiologist last night- never a good idea!- and compared all his scans and I will be shocked if he has not had a further reduction today. My hubby tells me not to get my hopes up based on my perusal of the scans, but I can't help it.

    Thank you it means alot:) I really could use the strength part. I know there are ups and downs with this but it seems like we have had nothing but downs. Ready for some good news:)
