Oh boy, it is 16 degrees BELOW ZERO here in Northern Colorado this morning! And wind chill makes it closer to 30 below. I hate winter!!! This cold snap is spreading across the plains and will involve 2/3 of the country by tomorrow.I plan on staying in and wrapping up in quilts all day.

KEEP WARM!!! Vicki

    It is...
...Actually a beautiful, sunny, blustery day in my part of Ohio..it's 60 degrees! feels great, little bit of showers, but I feel it's the calm before the storm, I know the Midwest is getting some blizzards, and I'm betting they'll be on their way here too!

    Hugsss!

    I'll be in Cheyenne
    Leslie,

On Saturday I have to do a press check at my new printers - in Cheyenne. They say it will be in the 40's by then. Sounds downright balmy! LOL! Maybe time to break out the shorts?

    Vicki

BTW - it's noon and has warmed up to 1 above.

    the weather
we're in KCMO and had to delay the start of my hubby's chemo today because of the weather -- this after putting it off for already 1 week -- every time i get myself ready for it, it gets delayed -- i was none too pleased, however, it's -6 here today with 30 mph gusts and i couldn't imagine hubby taking his first folfox in this

it's cold, for southern California anyhow
We had a rain storm Monday that was pretty wild for what we're used to here in California. I know it's absolutely child's play compared to what people in the east and midwest normally experience, though. Our low here was 35 last night but right now, at 11:30 a.m. it's 61 degrees outside. When I was in Nashville, TN last week, I felt really cold with it in the high 20's a couple of the nights I was there. Again, I know that's nothing compared to what many of you are experiencing. One of my nephews just moved to Iowa a couple of months ago & he's experiencing his first major blizzard- a shock for someone used to California weather.

Stay safe in the stormy weather, everyone!

    HOT in the Florida Keys!
Right now, at 5:10 PM, it is 90 degrees outside and humid - seas are calm. I'm having a tropical Christmas. Truth be told, I would rather be in the snow... It's December and nearly Christmas, for Heaven's sake! Listening to Winter Wonderland, humming "dashing through the snow...", seems a bit strange when it feels like summer.

Makes me want to forget the Christmas cookies, hot chocolate and egg nog, and have a Key Lime Mojito!

    Feliz Navidad!

Wished I was back in Co
    Vicki,
I wished I was back in Colorado, was raised in Pueblo, but I love Denver and Northern CO. Northern CO gets very cold and the wind only adds to the problem. Any temp that is at or below zero is bitter, but that being said I still wish I was back in Colorado. Last year after the new year we spent a week at Monarch. It was so much fun.

It is cold here for Texas. Texas gets the Cold+Wind+Humidity and that just means cut you to the bone cold. I heard from my sister in law in Arkansas and she said it is also cold there.

It is Hot Chocolate time today.

    Fair and warm in Hawaii
It's 69F. here in Waimanalo, blue skies, low humidity, sunny. But it's not always nice here -- the rainy season is starting.

    Okay - You got a deal! Let's trade :-)
That way I can break out my Uggs, my soft cozy sweaters, and rescue my coats from summer storage...and end the feast of wool from the moths. A few weeks ago a moth with a 5" wing span was flitting about the front porch, flirting with the porch light. He was so huge I imagined he could eat a whole winter sweater in one sitting, belch and ask for another. I was creeped out for the reast of the day.

It's been soooo hot and humid. Being a homegrown California girl, I wilt in this tropical humid climate....ugh...dreaming of twinkling Christmas lights shining off snow, warm cardamon mulled wine, and my hubby under the mistletoe (Bob is spending Christmas at sea with his crew).

Happy Hoidays from the land where palm trees sway.

Here we know that Christmas will be green and bright,
The sun will shine by day and all the stars at night.

Always keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, Vicki.

    Hugs! Katie

    Blizzard here
    School was closed.

I wouldn't have gone out in it, but really had to go to the onc's office for labs and INR, and this thrush that won't stop. My husband took a vacation day today to drive me because I've not been doing well. Good thing - no way I could have driven in the mess today. They hadn't plowed our roads yet - big drifts.

I'm staying in till I have to go back for INR and liver function labs Friday.

    I take it Northern Calif?
    Katie,

I left home (NE Ohio) in 1968 to visit family in San Fransisco. I ended up staying (22 years before I moved from Calif!) I have to admit, that first Christmas was very hard - 70 degrees and sunny in the Bay Area. My Uncle surprised me with a trip up to Tahoe just to see the snow! But over the years I've gotten over it.

Geez, this morning it's a balmy 6 degrees above!

    Vicki

PS - Wish Bob a Merry Christmas from us as well.

Update...well, my thermometer is broken - it's actually 11 below this morning. I guess the cold was too much for it!

    I love duck hunting!
It's my favorite! Being on the Oxi, I have to skip being in the woods and flooded timbers this hunting season. Way to cold out there. Guess with all the wind gust adds to the challenge. Tracking through the target with the target bouncing all around can't be easy.
It's in the 30s in Atlanta this morning.
