    I know it's no fun right now, but it's all downhill from here. The catheter comes out soon and life improves a lot when that happens. I had surgery on 10/26 and the catheter out on 11/4. I started taking daily walks as soon as it was out, and doing normal stuff. It's back to work on Monday. Be careful not to eat too much. The biggest issue I've had is trying to get my bowels regular.

    I'm due to have the cath out
    I'm due to have the cath out tomorrow.
    Since Wed the cath bag has been a constant red colour,
    so I hope that doesnt mean they keep me in, gulp.

    Eldon, I feel pretty good at the mo (2nd week out)
    Doing a couple of half mile walks a day, so hang in there,
    it gets better mate.

    Well, they did a cystogram
    Well, they did a cystogram and said there was a leak, told me to come back
    in 10 days, bugger.
    Good news, is they took out the clips...

    There was an oldish gent waiting opposite my bed, so I offered him a seat
    and we had a good chat.
    Turns out his son, 53, had the surgery a week ago
    but is leaking too much to send home.
    His dad also has pca and had the radiation in the 1990's,
    he looked pretty good must be said.

    Good to see that you are home and the surgery is complete.

    Here's hoping that you receive a fantastic pathology report.

    I can't really comment on the cath issues, my dr used a Supra Pubic Cath and therefore there is no tube running through the penis. I have to admit that it sure made walking 2-3 miles per day immediately following surgery a non-eventful and easy experience.

    Best of luck to you in your healing process. Follow the mantra of post surgery; drink, walk, drink, walk and repeat. Don't forget that following the post surgery diet and using the stool softeners also contribute to a much speedier and painless recovery.
