Went to a new GP..(My normal GP was to booked up)
I have been having terrible foot pain and leg pain..It hurts 24/7 and my legs get tingeling sensations plus pain...I still have naropathy in my feet...I stated a new job in Sept. and am on my feet 8 hour a day but thought the pain would get better and go away once I got used to it but its only gotten worse..The doc gave me an ultra sound to check for clots but haven't heard results yet. He also said it could be permanent nerve damage from chemo...Does anyone have this problem with nerve damage??? Other than that he said he wasn't sure at all..I have an appointment on 12/2 with my oncologist so I will talk to him then....Any thoughts???? Thanks Julie

    Hi Julie!
I was never on Oxy, but have heard neuropathy does come along with it, with severe leg and foot pain, cracking on the heels, if you search under "neuropathy" it will tell you what it does, lots of people here have dealt with this, and seems there is nothing much they can do about it, am sure some of those people will post about it here to you, that would scare me if I ever had to do oxy, I would hate that foot pain. But, make sure the leg pain isn't due to low potassium levels either, I've had that before, where they had to give me 4 units of potassium during a chemo treatment, it took 2 hours. Hope you'll be answered soon!

    Hugsss!

    hey julie
well you asked so i will tell.i finished my last treatment of oxy and 5fu on july 16th 2009.as of right now i am having tingling, numbness, vibrating and a feeling of having electricity running through my body 24/7.everyday,every hour, every minute, every second that i breathe.i try to deal with it and just tell myself it just takes time.i know we are supposed to be glad we are alive and not have the cancer kill us but nobody ever told me that this side effect from the oxy would be this bad or last this long until it started.im sorry but if i have to live the rest of my life in this kind of pain is it really worth it. come on how many of us are actually in more pain since we have gone thru these treatments then when we were first dx with this beast, good luck to ya julie and Godbless....johnnybegood

    leg and foot pain
    Dear Julie44,
I also have debilitating foot and leg pain from neuropathy. It is getting worse instead of better! I have started on neurontin that takes some time to build up to effective levels. In the meantime I found anacupuncturist who claims to have helped others with the problem. Now that my long term disability has cut me loose I feel compelled to work even though I am in pain with every step. I thought if I got through the chemo I could live with anything, but this is about to ruin that resolve. lm3933
