Those that dye your hair did you wait 6 months after the chemo to dye it again? I have heard you should wait that long, but I want to dye it sooner. I finished chemo 6/23, do you think it is still too soon? I really did not lose much hair, but I am sick of the gray. LOL thanks in advance for you help.

    Hair dye
My last Chemo was 6/19 and my hair was colored in September with no issues. I had lost my hair and it came back very dark. I was a redhead - go figure! I am a redhead again... Go for it.

    Many hugs, Vicki

hated my gray .... had it done probably 3 times during chemo. never paid attention to what anyone said about putting chemicals on my head with the chemicals they were putting inside my body...if it made me feel better about me, i did it!

    didn't wait
    Hi,

I dyed my hair during chemo several times. I've been on chemo off and on for two years and since I'm lucky enough to still have hair, I decided I'm going to make myself feel good about how I look. I've not had any problems with it, other than my hair getting extra dry- nothing a little extra care and a good conditioner can't cure though.
I say to go for it!

I have colored my hair twice
I have colored my hair twice on chemo, I do it myself with loreal color. The only thing is that it fades pretty quickly and did not do that before. My hair did thin (was already thin)Patti

    At my cancer centre, they
At my cancer centre, they said if you are going dye your hair during chemo, use non-peroxide or henna options. I have had my hair dyed twice during chemo, using non peroxide dye.

    Coloring
I've been out of chemo 6 weeks and have just colored it for a second time and it turned out great. During treatment once I went to a beauty shop that had 95% natural coloring but it was almost $70 dollars and I though I am not spending that kind of money again. Mine turned out just as well and it came out of a box :)

I use Clairol Hair Color. There is no peroxide or ammonia.

    I used my Loreal
during and since Chemo and my stylist says my hair looks healthier now than it did before. I gave up a lot of things to go through chemo and since it didn't hurt the first time, I kept on coloring!

    Go for it
Lots of the ladies on the board colored their hair while still on chemo and did not wait until chemo finished. Tell your hairdresser, it should be fine and if she does not have the products for you she can get them.
