I am going for my Ct scans tomorrow. I have been wanting to get this done since before surgery, now the day is coming and I am getting cold feet. I know it is important to find out if there are any problems lurking about. I have become very comfortable with the possibility that this thing is only a 3B, staged because of what what found at surgery, but I do have my fears, I guess that is normal, what ever normal is these days.

Oh well, I can do this, right?

I had a relative call last night and she does not understand why I have to have chemo. She said she knew someone who has colon cancer and all they did was surgery. I deferred to my husband who tried to explain. I did not know what this was all about (and still have a lot to learn) until I was diagnosed and I think just like this relative others can not appreciate what it means to have cancer unless they put on those shoes.

Well tonight I will drink that wonderful contrast and head out early for a fun filled morning in radiology.

I feel like the little train, I just keep repeating, I think I can, I think I can.....

Well sans this week, port placement next week and then I move the the wonderful world of chemo.
(I think I can, I think I can.....)

    G'day, Jan :)

If I remember my Train Story correctly - he started out with "I think I can."

But after he got going, he said, "I KNOW I CAN, I KNOW I CAN" - and YOU WLL!

It's just new to you right now, so we all feel the same even after many years of going through it - it's a common thread in the fabric of the Semi;Colon land.

Port placement and chemo to follow, huh? Well, the rollercoaster is heading to the top and it's time for the ride to begin, BUT you have us all in the same car with you - and what a difference it will make for you.

My first 5 years I had absoltely No One but my wife, and it's just different with a spouse. Now, that I'm facing surgery, I know that I've got the Semis; all with me this time and it does make a difference in how I feel.

So, just buckle up and hang on - we're there with you - and thank you for your reply to Eric's post, very sweet - you TEXAN you :)

    Thinking of You
I know that this seems like a whole new roller coaster ride for you starting all this, but you will get through it and YES you can. Good luck with the scan. Port placement should go well for you too. I remember I was more scared to start chemo than I was to have the major surgery that I did, but you will do that to. Keep us informed as to how you are doing.
