Just wanted to update everyone on our status. Jeff has been home one week today from the hospital and doing so much better, you would never know he was knocking on heavens door about 2 weeks ago. He wasn't eating nothing but vegatables until thursday, when his surgeon took out his feeding tube and said eat whatever you feel like. He has truly done that and he has truly learned that he cannot eat like he use to, he has to eat small meals about 6 times a day, which is fine. I am glad he is eating. He is still hurting and will it has not even been one month since surgery, I still have to help him, but not like I did. I plan to return to work on September 1, but am going to work evening shift until we get through with the doctorss so i can be home with him in the mornings. I have never worked evening shift so this will be a new experience for me too. We go to the onocologist on the 26th of this month so we will be awaiting what will come next. I have had to ask myself several times, if i could do this again, my answer to me is at least i would know what to expect next time, but i certainly hope that "MOE DOESN'T HAVE TO PULL OUT HER BIG GIRL PANTIES" AND HER "WALKING SHOES" again, but if that time came I certainly would, who would ever think that my husband would be diagnosed with cancer. When we were born, we couldn't wait to be 13 to be a teenager, whew !! then it was 16 to drive a car, and then 18 to be adult and not told what to do, then 21 so we could do what others did, and then our years just added on, but I don't ever remember waiting to have this ugly disease we call "CANCER" i don't think growing up we ever could wait to get this. Somewhere in our books this was left out, I guess GOD gives it to special people that know they can do it, and keep going, wow did he ever, I lost alot of sleepless nights, crying, and just wondering what was going to happen next. We all need to look around and if just one person is asking for help we need to say a prayer, don't ever say we might not need it, cause someday we just might.
Well, Jeff is tired alot, but is so nice to have him home. I am so sorry I kept rattling but when words come to mind i like to write them down then.

If I can help anyone on this site and explain surgery, of EC or effects or anything please don't hesitate to write me.

A very good cancer friend of mine has this quote: "ITS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR A STORM TO PASS ITS ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN"

take care

    MOE!!!
    Lori,

I am so happy for you and Jeff, he has come such a long ways. I love that you like my quote!! It is my absolute favorite, and how fitting it is! You're right, cancer wasn't in all the books growing up, but when it comes across on that page, boy does life look a little different. I find that I find pleasure in the little things, and look forward to each and every day, even if I am not able to participate in my job, which I love...I find that with each day I can find something very small to seek joy out. You are great!! Thanks for always being there to chat!

    CATHY-YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION
Cathy, just remember you have to fight this cancer again, you are an inspiration to me and I couldn't get through my journey without you, and your help, I wish I could now help you, during your new journey, you are strong, and now you know what to expect, i was just hoping it was something else, this disease that attacks us called "CANCER" is never what we ask for in life, I think of you each day and cant wait to see if you post something on either FB or this site. you have to show Patrick how to use this so if you are down and out he can post because I need to know you are okay. Please know I really really care for you, and wish I was closer to help you. Someday we will all meet. I know you can do this, I just wish you could have went back to work.

remember: LIFE ISN'T ABOUT WAITIN FOR A STORM TO PASS IT IS ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN,

    love you bunches

    Special People
"I guess GOD gives it to special people"

No I really believe that God gives special people to those that have cancer. I have read of the loved ones here and seen the people that surround my father and truly believe that is where God is.
