I suppose I should post about what is going on with us. Layne has been in chemo, and now proton radiation and chemo. He has two weeks to go. Then home for 5 weeks and back for pet scans, and other testing to confirm he is a go for surgery. The celiac nodes resolved themselves and the original tumor and node near it are shrinking considerably.

I asked about post surgical chemo. They indicated this is not normally done. Wouldn't that be good to wipe up any leftovers?

    Sounds like a plan
    Hi Betty,

I'm glad that Layne is doing well and it's great that the tumors are shrinking!!!
Our Dr. also believes in cleaning up the left overs.

    Betty,

I am so happy that Layne's coming along well. In my opinion, and from what I've heard...post-op chemo is typically done. Good luck!

i haven't updated the care pages this week
it has been a tough week. Layne's job went away thursday...and his insurance of course. So we are struggling with all that. But that is where we are right now. Midway through Proton. Also, there are things about EC that everyone here knows that I don't post on the carepages...because well, people don't understand a lot of these things. They seem to assume you have cancer, they take it out, you are healed! I used to think that as well.

Getting EC in the family is a lot like getting a college education in cancer.

    You said that right
    Hey Betty,

I'm so sorry about Layne's job & insurance loss! I have personally been there. Trying to
get another insurance to pick you up well lets say!#@#^&^%*, and trying to get medicaid or
disability is a big hassle, but fight for it he has been working all of his life and has a right to get it. If they tell you no contact you local congressmens office they may be able to help you. They helped me.

If you need any more pointers let me know!\\
