Hi all,

I was rushed to the hospital this weekend because I was passing out on vacation. Found out I have ulcerative colitis. Does anyone know if this will affect chemotherapy? I have an appt. on Friday but can't wait. I am scared. I already have breast cancer and start chemo. next week and now this - give me a break.

    Have no idea...
Sorry for your additional health issue. Since you were on vacation, away from home, when you were admitted/treated - be sure to advise your doctors of this condition before proceeding with anything else.

I'll be hoping you'll be able to proceed with your BC treatment, as planned.

    clostridium difficile
I started had first 2 treatments. A week after the second treatment I started to run a fever in the middle of the night. Ended up at the emergency room and was admitted to the hospital. After being there for a day or so im blood pressure started to drop. I was told it was because i was dehidrated so they put me on a fluid drip. By day 2 my I started having dirraha and extreem stomach cramp and my blood pressure continued to drop. Before i knew it i being rushed to icu where my husband and daugher were asked to leave the room. My blood pressure was 50 over 45 it was serious. After being in icu for 4 day and having 2 blood transfussions. they told my i have what is called Cdiff and they almost didnt catch it in time. So after spend 2 weeks in the hospital and taking alot of meds I started chemo again. The day after that treatment thedirraha started back and im having a relaps. We have to stop chemo again. Needless to say it seem like this year has been one problem after amother for me. I guess what im trying to say is had i waited i would not be here today. This could be totally different but i wanted to share.

I'm scared to death of all of this.

    With Love

    Chemo postponed
Well, had my appt. today. The doctor actually said the chemo would be fine but he wants to postpone it three weeks and give me a chance to heal with the new medicine. My port will still go in on Monday, but chemo won't be until the 19th of August. Thanks for the support!!

    Good to hear from you...
Healing before chemo sounds like an excellent idea. Your doctor surely wants you to be in good shape before you begin.

So, take good care of yourself, in the meantime.

    With postponing chemo, you
With postponing chemo, you will have time to heal and be stronger. So, take it easy, rest, relax and just take care of yourself.

    Good luck to you
