Just wanted to share with you all Jeff is doing really well and its been one week since surgery, Today he started breathing on his own, very restless, and very alert, they finally had to sedate him to rest, so therefore I had to leave as family was making him agitated. I guess there will be a day he will get to a room and I will wonder when I can leave, as I always tell William Marshall "I WILL NEVER FUSS WITH HIM AGAIN" especially after seeing him this way for so long anad almost loosing him 24 hours after surgery. I had to put on 'MY BIG GIRL PANTIES" and move on. I had buried those panties when i buried my mother as I had to wear them alot while she was sick, but I had to pull them out of the drawer put them back on and tell myself, Okay lets see what today is going to bring do I want to set here and think the worst or put my 'BIG PANTIES" on and say okay what has EC brought to our life today. I am so glad I found this site, along with william Marshall, and Kitten, of course I didn't like what I was told in the beginning and didn't want to talk to them, but as the days moved forward and surgery came upon us, I knew I had too. I really was scared, but now I am starting to calm down and see what I need to do.

Therefore, we have came so far in a week, with no sleep, no showers and just hoping for the best. Well the doctors, nurses and GOD made me what I am today.

Please continue to pray for us as we still have a ways to go.

THanks
Lori aka MOE

    Lori,

I am so happy that you have come this far, as well as Jeff. What a relief knowing he is breathing on his own!! I pray that he continues to go better and better and be able to move on with his life. Soon you will be giving everyone advice on how to get through this crazy ordeal that we all know as esophageal cancer.

    Hugs!
