Hey everyone, been a while since I posted. I will be starting round 4 of chemo tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it. I'm so sick of feeling sick, muscle twitching, can't walk because of the pins and needles on the bottom of my feet, can't drink or touch cold things. Whine, whine, whine....ok I'm done....sorry. One plus I had this month is I had a break from chemo on the 2nd, my birthday! Had a couple glasses of wine and it was great....then back to reality.

Anyway, I have a question. Has anyone taken Emend while on Coumadin? I read that you have to be careful taking Emend while on coumadin. My doc is trying Emend this week, last chemo I was sick for 6 days. Anyone tried other anti-nausea drugs? Nothing seems to work for me, I think pot is next.

    Go for it dude
Happy Birthday Dave, I'm sorry that you have the nausea problem. Many people find relief with Emend. I used it and didn't care for it or the price. Pot works and it works very well. Everyone here probably already knows my stance on this. There was an interesting poll on Yahoo today.

    Emend and Coumadin
    Hi Dave,

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time with nausea. Emend did the trick for me (mostly), but it could not get rid of the sewage taste in my mouth. None of the other anti-nausea prescriptions worked. I didn't try pot, though. As for the coumadin, I was on coumadin while taking emend and suffered no dire effects. I hear you about all the ugly side effects--they take a toll and are incredibly frustrating at times. I recommend a cane. Get a colorful one and go about your business when you can. You'd be surprised at how much it helps with walking and neuropathy. Plus, people tend to get out of your way at the grocery store and you get to get on first on the airplane. Okay, so I exploited it a little....

Are you SURE you haven't tried the pot?
    :-)

Sometimes if you hit the post button and don't wait long enough and hit the post button again it will show up multiple times. Patience my dear.

    Emend And Coumadin
    Kirsten,

Thanks for the reply. I talked to the doc today and he said there should be no problem with taking both. I get the mouth sores for about 3 or 4 days after I get unhooked from my pump. I'll see how the Emend works and if not, I will try the pot.
