Hi,

I'm 25 yrs old and when I was 14 I was diagnosed w Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I've been in remission for 11 yrs but unfortunately I have a lot of chronic health and dental problems which have resulted in a lot of medical bills that I cannot afford even with insurance. Does anyone know of any medical bill assistance for cancer survivors? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Medical Assitance
Contact The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, they have a program set up to help with co-pays and out of pocket expense, you have to have insurance to qualifiy, so you shouldn't have any problem. Thier web site http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org

I have no insurance and am usinsurable, I have filed for disability, I have many health problems also due to the late effects of chemo & radiation, I'm a 23 year survivor of HD.

    Good Luck

    Additional financial help
Hi Mechlois – It’s so overwhelming that in addition to going through cancer treatments, you have to worry about how to pay for your care. I know it was extremely stressful for my family – I went through treatments for Hodgkin’s Disease, and then my father went through treatments for colon cancer, and navigating insurance, co-pays and coverage was awful for all of us. I did a recent post on managing the costs of treatments that may be helpful for you – http://blog.cincovidas.com/managing-the-costs-of-treatment. Love, strength and survival, Britta

Free Medical help and Dental Help

I am a new member as of 2/5/2015, trying to get help for medical bills coming in for my cancer survivor "colon cancer" husband.  It has been hard on us, both retired, and our benefit isn't enough to take care of all monthly/yearly expenses.  This has been going on since 2002, and this site has definitely giving me the information I can use to try to obtain help.  So now, I would like to help others in need, other than getting help with medical bill payments.  I hope the information I give out to you and others, will help you somewhat.  I have been going to the all mission of mercy organization in Reisterstown, Maryland  for help with free medical and free dental.  You don't have to show I.D., and they take the first six patients as (new walk ins) every other Tuesday in Maryland.  I don't know where you reside, but you can check on line for allmissionofmercy.org, or mission of mercy, which is a different program from the allmissionofmercy.org. You must get to Reisterstown, Maryland early, and sit in your car, tell the doors open up at 7:30 a.m.  It is a long day process, most of the time, but you do get free meds, after your check up with the doctor, and most of the time, the dentist does fillings and extractions only.  They do have the large mission of mercy events in most towns that do everything for dental and health purposes, but you must check on line for that.  I hope that this helps.  God Bless.
