Just thought I would pass along the message I got today from CSN, after noticing I wasnt receiving anything in the way of updates to threads I subscribe to on the Discussion Boards. They emailed me today to see that this feature is currently broken and they are working on another way to alert us to updates on the threads we are interested in. Just thought I would let you know.

Thanks blueroses. You are right on top of things. I am doing better and just dealing with my winter cold now. I asked my doc for a rebate on my flu shot but I don't expect to see a check in the mail. The flu and cold season is so bad in Northern Michigan that they have been closing schools down all week. As with all doctor appointments in our life we don't leave the office without some sort of tests scheduled. So I milked it out until April when I will have my PSA test and an MRI on my brain tumor. Then with any luck I will have a doctor free summer. Well we can always hope anyway! Bless You Slickwilly

    Hi Blue and Slick
You are right Slick. Blu is always on top of things. Thanks for the info I was thinking it was my computer not working right. Hope your cold / flu is getting better. You should get a rebate on that flu shot, But I guess they would only give you an excuse of how it made the Flu not as bad for you, They always have plenty of excuses for us when we question the Docs. My days are slowly getting better. I still have good days and bad. But I am thankful for every day I wake up. Thanks for all you guys do. I really enjoy reading all your post. It really makes my day. I just wanted to let you know that i read all of them even if I don't reply. You both have touched so many hearts. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

    Hey Slickster
I hear you about the doctors appts. and leaving with new tests and procedures each time. I have a checkup this coming Wednesday and I don't want to think about what will come out of that with more tests and stuff. Oh a doctor free summer, what a dream that is. Hope for your sake that that happens. Around Xmas I try and not have any appts. in December but it never really works well as there are usually more colds and flues then so I wind up back in waiting rooms sniffing in more germs, lol. I'm sure you know all about that. We have to cancel and reschedule as we feel we can take them all, in time with poor health you learn how to protect yourself from too much stress, the stress that visiting a doc can bring. Self preservation eh? Take care Slickster, hope today finds you feeling a bit better. Hugs, Blueroses.

More Like Paranoia Than "On Top of Things", lol
Gee whiz, tanks for the compliment guys but the reason I asked CSN was because I was starting to think they didn't love me anymore. lol. Hey you never know sometimes if you have offended someone in a post sometimes or not, everyone takes comments in their own ways so I actually thought I had done something. Hmm, wonder if treatments cause paranoia too? lol. Just kidding, I think. lol. Anywho, that's why I checked with them as no one else mentioned this in the chatroom so thought it was me, sheeesh. lol

Mr. Sad, glad that things are getting a bit better day by day. It is an old tired cliche but time really does help us to heal. Hope your weekend goes well and you have good times with your children. Hugs, Blueroses.

    e-mail hades
I thought it was the new e-mail that Comcast gave me- glad to hear I'm still on the list.
Speaking of tests and procedures, I finally got my doc to ease up on the platinum chemos; he reduced the Taxol and I'm finally done with the Carboplatin-yea!!!
I have the CT and bone scan scheduled in a couple of weeks and hope for the best.Would sure appreciate a prayer, if you could spare the time. My husband and kids are working together to get my house clean for me; they know mom always feels better when the dust-bunnies are banished.
Hope your cold gets better, Slick.
    Hugs to all,
    Hol

All done with one of the drugs Holly? That's so great, hope that means you will feel a little better too, all of them have so many side effects as you so well know. Maybe reducing the taxol will do the same, a little relief would be welcome wouldn't it? Hugs. The prayer has been sent and on its way to the big guy, did you say you would appreciate a prayer if we could SPARE THE TIME? You silly. There is always time for a prayer, silly billy. How nice that your family is up and working to get the house in ship shape condition for the Captain, how great you will feel when it's all done, I know I feel better when I know my place is finished. Well off to do a few chores around the apt. Woke up way too early and then went back to bed and now I'm feeling the weird schedule in my chest with heart issues so better lie down for a bit and try that getting up thing again in a few minutes. lol. Blessings, Holly

    cleaning house
hollyberry. I am so glad that the doctor is working with you and I will be praying that the CT and bone scan come out ok. I would imagine your stress level will be climbing for the next couple weeks but we are all here to support you. Its great that the husband and kids are cleaning the home as its always frustrating seeing things that need to be done and we can't do them. And I think we all get a little germaphobic when we deal with cancer. I wash my hands so much that they are usually raw. Everyone here is always in my prayers along with those I have lost to cancer. Bless you Slickwilly

    Almost Heaven!!
    Blue and Slick,
Thanks for your prayers- I am a bit stressed about the upcoming tests. You know how that goes- waiting for the tests, waiting for the results and hoping and praying for more time with my family. I'm ready for the alternative, when God does call me home; I just hope my family is.Not to say I'm giving up- just at peace either way.
All of you have been so supportive and kind and I can't thank you enough; sometimes this board is a life-saver;I regain my strength and good attitude from all of your positives posts. Thanks for getting me through the rough days(and nights!)and making a difficult situation bearable. My husband and kids have been wonderful and I thank God for them; but you understand some things that they (hopefully) will never understand and I am grateful for your support.
Hoping you all feel good today and praying for all of you, too!
    Much love,
    Holly
P.S., The house is beautiful - everybody really worked hard to make it clean and organized. I love that!!

    Never ever give up!!!!
Hey Holly, Grrrr, I had a whole 2 paragraphs written to you and then my cat, who is lieing between the computer monitor and the keyboard, leaned back and hit some key that erased the whole thing. lol. Sheeesh, I don't even know what key to push to do that but she figured it out. lol.

Anywho, I just wanted to tell you that when you are home and in a bad place with all that is going on, or in the doctors office waiting to go in for results, we are there with you in spirit - every step of the way. You are so blessed to have your family there helping you with it all, lifting your spirits, I know you know it but I just had to say it myself. It is very difficult living on my own especially when I am awaiting results and when I am suffering one of the side effects I am left with and would love nothing better than a little help. But all that has to happen is the phone to ring and it's my son checking in or a friend doing the same thing. I have found that the soul only needs a little caring to keep it feeling cared about, you have that in spades. I pray, literally, that your results are what you hoped them to be and then some. Blessings Holly. Hugs, Blueroses.

    Thank you!
I am so glad to read your message, Blue Roses. I was wondering what was wrong. So thanks again. I read a lot, but respond much less. Lots of times someone has already written what I am thinking! Your posts give me comfort, even though we haven't met. Lynn

    How Lovely
Hey Lynn, I am glad that you feel comfort from the postings on this site, I do too, as well as many many others. It's so nice to have a place to come to where you know you will be understood and listened to in it all isn't it? I'm glad you are here and wonderful to hear from you. If you ever have anything that is bothering you and you feel it must be 'just you' , post it Lynn, and I bet others will soon chime in that they have been there too. There is great healing in that type of communication as you no doubt know. It is strange that online, with this type of site - sharing as we do, we all get to 'know' each other very well as most of us have been in each others shoes in the cancer experience, all too often. All the best Lynn, take good care. Blessings, Blueroses.
