A Caroling I Went

Tonight I went caroling with the youth group from our church. This is after the triumphant performance of my children's choir last night in our Christmas production. They rocked! It's all made me remember how last year I had practiced with the choir on a really neat program and then wasn't able to lead them because I ended up having cancer instead. What fun! And the youth group came to my house last year and sang carols to me, because I had just recently gotten home from the hospital.

It felt good tonight to be on the giving side. I loved it! The only sad part was visiting one of our dear members who is going through lung cancer. He's just finished chemo and has lost his hair and looks so weak. I cried like a baby when I got back in the car after seeing him. I don't think cancer will ever not make me cry...

I am with you on this one!
I know you had a great time caroling, especially since last year you were sick yourself. It always breaks my heart when I hear of ANOTHER member of my church family being diagnosed with cancer. It just SUCKS! And to be in treatment over the holidays double sucks! Not only do you feel like crap, but there will be pictures to remind you of it into infinity! We go caroling the last Sunday of Advent so the 21st will be our time. It was snowing and icy last year so I didn't go, but am looking forward to this year!

    This is true, Kathi. I
This is true, Kathi. I reminded him that the youth had come to my house to sing last year and told him I would be praying he'd be able to join us in singing next year. He's a lovely man and funny as anything.

    *hugs*
