This month marks 4 years post diagnosis with stage 2a colon cancer and I just came back from a follow-up visit with the oncologist--all is well. Since I don't post much anymore here is a brief history: diagnosed 12/04 with stage 2a colon cancer, had laprascopic right hemicolectomy, no chemo. Then regular follow-up visits, first every 4 months, then at year two, every six months unless I had a problem. Though every new ache and pain brings fears of recurrence, so far everything checks out OK.

I still "lurch" every now-and-then to see how evereyone is doing. It's good to see new members of this unique club although I guess it's not one that we would voluntarily join. I am also saddened reading of those who are no longer with us. While I never met anyone personally, I feel each loss as the passing of a good friend. For me, this site was a great help when first diagnosed and I still enjoy "catching-up" with everyone when I log on.

    Welcome
    Hi Howard,

Welcome back and glad to hear your good news. I don't think any of us will ever not have a fear of recurrence. Just keep going for those check ups, stay positive and enjoy life to the fullest. Thanks for the update.
