    Healing Bag
    Michelle,

I got my husband a healing bag from Kanort. She had a post a couple of months ago stating that if you wanted one to email her with your address and she would send you one. It is a wonderful little bag, gave my husband great faith - he takes it with him to every chemo treatment and every doctor's appointment. My husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer on 8/15/08 had surgery on 9/15/08 and started chemo on 10/15/08.

Good luck to you and your husband. Email me if you want to chat. Please remember that you are not alone in this journey. I remind my husband every day - fight the good fight - it's worth it.

It's good to hear you sounding so positive!
Sandi, I know you and your husband have been on a real tough fight and you have been having a real tough time coping. It is so good to hear you so positive and knowing that the fight is on and that it IS worth it! Let us know how things are going, ok? And I also got one of the healing bags and it is awesome!

    healing bag
I received one of Kanort's bags and it has provided a great sense of inner peace; when
I am anxious I hold it and do a meditation for a while; could it be that it is close to
the native American talisman. I have added some items to it already; a stone from a trip
to Ireland on which I wrote Hope and Love. A seashell. I really appreciate Kanort's making these for us.

    Bags!
    Hi Michelle,

Please email me your mailing information on this site, and I will get one out to your husband this weekend.

Also, you can go back to my post on October 15th and read the purpose in them.

I'm thinking of you and your husband.

    Hugs,

    Kay

    Trying to be Positive
Yes, we are trying to be positive, but every once in awhile reality hits me and I have to work through it again. Each time is easier than the last time. My husband is doing well with his chemo - he hardly has any side effects which is good. He went to the surgeon's yesterday for his 3 month checkup since his surgery, the surgeon is very happy with how he is healing. Since he had his first port taken out and got the new one put in on the other side, he has not had any pain at all, just a bit from the neuropathy. But since he knows what it is from he is able to deal with it. I went out and bought him about 12 pairs of those little mini gloves for him to wear around the house, they seem to help him. On the weeks he's not having chemo he gets out and rides his motorcycle. His only problem is that he finds himself winded very easily, I told him that he needs to get on the treadmill and build his muscle back up. He is trying and I am very proud of him for fighting. He asked me the other day if he could buy a new motorcycle, since he has so much trouble with the one he has, I thought about it and told him go ahead, you deserve to have one that won't break down, especially if you want me to go out with you. LOL...

Oh well, other than that things are going good. Thank you for asking and thank you for remembering all my problems that I was having.

    close by too
I live in Gilbert and read this post. I hope the best for all of us. At least we don't have the bad cold weather to irritate our Neuropathy.

    Not far from you either
I live in Scottsdale. Wonder how many Semicolons are within 50 miles of all of us?

    Get together
We should plan a small get together of all the Semicolons that live here in AZ. That would be fun, to say hello. I am currently doing my treatment at the Ironwood Cancer Research Center off of Dobson in Chandler. Trainer you do yours at the VA right?

I'm game for the Semicolons to meet. Probably ought to consider it after the holidays as things are just crazy for most people.

I don't go to the VA, I use TriCare. I stayed in the Resevers after active duty and have a Reserve reritement. TriCare West is great. I read that you'd been in the Navy for 8 years. After hearing your problems, I wish you'd have done the same thing I did. What did you do in the Navy?

Mike49 mentioned going to the VA for his care, so you probably just got us mixed up. However, if I didn't have TriCare I wouldn't hesitate to go to the VA. My father in law when he lived with us would go there to get his meds and such. Good people there.

How do we figure out who lives in Arizona to come to this gathering?

    Checking in
Hello, I live in Gilbert with my wife, I am happy to meet as a group sometime, like Trainer, after the holidays probably the best for now.

I use the VA on Indian School Road. Its a bit of a commute but they have been great to me there. I am a VA employee, for 19 years and even my family say, "why there? you have options". I believe in my organization enough to have general surgery and chemo there. They're a great group. I love seeing the older vets in clinic and feel like they are the salt of the earth. I wish they were'nt ill, me neither.

    Thanks

    Was a blackshoe
I was a Radioman, which I believe was combined with another classification a few years after I got out. I enlisted in 1986 after high school, made E-5 in two years, but couldnt get past that, it was about the time Clinton started the reduction in forces. I got out in 1994, went on to work for a security company, then in 2000 became a Federal Law Enforcement Officer with INS. Currently still there.
Yes after the holidays would be great just let me know. My email is Dorookie2003@yahoo.com, drop me a line anytime.
