Hi Everyone,
Thank You to all those that responded to my post about chemo and quality of life.

I have decided to try going back to school. I have been in treatment far more than out of treatment since March 2004. Unfortunately this is more a financial decision for me than anything else. I am separated from my husband and spent many years as a stay at home Mom so I don't qualify for social security. I taught preschool for a while, but physically am unable to do that anymore. For the last 2 years I have been living on child support and money I received from selling my home. I am now at the point where I have to do something before child support and my money run out.

Also, going to school might be good for me, keep me focused on something other than cancer or how bad I feel because of chemo. I was in the middle of going for my degree when I was diagnosed so I should be able to finish it in a year. I have nothing to lose by trying it and if I can't do it it's on to plan B though I'm not sure what that is yet.

Thank You all for your support.
Have a great weekend!
Jamie

I think it is great for you to go back to school if that is where you want to be! You sound excited about it and ready to think about something else and I say ---go for it!! Just take care of yourself and don't over do it! I am hoping this will bring enjoyment and as you say, give you something else to focus on.

Whatever brings you joy and fulfillment---I'm all for it. Good luck, Jamie ! I will keep you in my prayers.

    Hi Jamie,
I think your decision is a good one. It is good to set goals and not let cancer have anymore of your life. Good luck with school. I am sure you can do it.
