Hello,

My Dad is about to undergo surgery to remove his bladder, he is gathering information on which procedure to have done, either the neobladder or the illeostomy urinary tube w/ collection bag, his biggest concern is whether he will be able to continue working after surgery, he is a Stone Mason and with this line of work he can be lifting up to 200-330 lbs of rock, is there anyone who has had either procedure done and was able to continue working in a strenuous field.

Thank you Talie

I had a cystectomy close to four years ago. I chose a neobladder as I qualified to have it done. I lift weights and can handle as much today as I did before my surgery. I have no reservations about my selection
