Is there anyone out there on chemo to shrink tumours in their liver to possibly have a resection? My husband (stage 4) has been told this may be a possibility for him and he is on CPT-11 and Avastin.

    Hi Fiona,

I don't have liver mets but others on here have had them and have done just that. I'm sure they will post today sometime. Keep the positive outlook and HUGS to you and your family. I'm only stage 3 with no mets.

Hi, if you have time please read my previous posts and /or web page. My husband just had a liver resection in October after being told for many months inoperable. Mets shrank with 9 treatments of chemo, avastin , xeloda and oxalplatinum. Keep the faith . Be persistant. Email me if I can answer any questions. Currently he is NED (no evidence of disease).
    God Bless and Good luck

    Hi Fiona,
I received four rounds of folfox, two with avastin and two without, before my liver resection. When they went in for surgery they said there had been 90% necrosis since the start of chemo.
    Good luck and stay positive!
